Product Features

The LL16 offers the you all the premium tone, feel, and appearance you can experience. Handcrafted with all solid woods, including Englemann spruce, rosewood, mahogany, and ebony, the LL16 offers truly powerful sound and projection with great playability at a reasonable price.

Bridge
The bridges on all L-Series guitars offer more overall mass than their predecessors to deliver greater tone from these instruments. Their designs feature smooth lines and edges to keep the playing surface unencumbered.

Bracing
All L-Series guitars benefit from a non-scalloped bracing design that delivers tone that is thick and well-focused.

Multi-Ply Neck Designs
The #16 model instruments utilize a 3-ply design of rosewood between two layers of mahogany. This design creates a neck that is exceptionally strong and stable-great for those players who prefer low string height.

Tuners
The vintage style brass tuners found on all #26 model guitars present these instruments with a classic look.

Cutaway Body
Venetian cutaways offer access to the upper frets while adding beauty to these fine instruments.

I have only had this guitar about three hours, but after my twenty plus years of playing, I can sniff out defects in guitars pretty quickly. I have been eyeing this model for awhile, and I am glad I waited because the upgrades they have added to the new model (entry level electronics + better bridge and bracing design) make it irresistible. This guitar plainly sounds amazing. I have been strumming and picking some Old Crow, Lefty Frizzel, Robert Johnson, Garth Brooks, Paul Simon, Eric Clapton, Metallica, Chet Atkins, Merle Travis, some my own acoustic arrangements of Social Distortion...it handles EVERYTHING. That is a diverse crop of stuff! It is definitely worth it to go with the rosewood. I played this one side by side with the mahogany model and there is no comparison. The other sounds good for strumming around, but the rosewood makes it so much more universal. This thing is professional quality and I can already tell it is going to help me get better. I am actually glad that I didn't pay for a label. There is no point in paying the same money for a Martin made of junk. And everybody has D shaped guitars. This one stands out in its design and can hit all the marks of a D in any case. This is the start of a beautiful relationship.

.I have been getting into guitars lately after purchasing an A-series on MF and being very impressed with it. I read that this guitar is no longer in production and have read great reviews about it, so I talked my wife into letting me get one. I will have to part with my trusty Alvarez, but this guitar is worth the sacrifice.
The sound of this guitar is incredible. Mine was set up well from the start. The only comparable guitar I have played is the Martin MMV, which a friend of mine recently purchased. Even so, this offers finer touches and still sells for much less (God bless our global economy!). The top is Englemann spruce, which grows in North America. The sides and back are solid rosewood (amazing). Together they make a great combination. I enjoy the gold hardware and off-white binding on the neck, it gives it a classic vintage look.
Bone nut and saddle would be nice instead of the plastic. I don't know how big a difference it makes, but for the price I paid for the guitar I could probably afford the upgrade. I haven't plugged mine in yet and haven't pushed it hard. I just appreciate strumming it and hearing it ring out. Finger picking comes across really well with it too.
If you have never owned an all-solid wood guitar like I had not, I highly recommend giving this one a try. The sound of this is terrific and I expect it will only improve with age.
If money were no concern, I would also snatch up the dark tinted and/or sunburst version. There is a deluxe version out there too. I am happy with this guitar. It's no Martin or Taylor...just YAMAHA for me!
[post-script} I forgot to mention that it plays great, the neck is just right in my opinion, and the case is outstanding.

.I've had this guitar for about a month now, and the only bad news is when I received the guitar the plastic saddle was at an angle and did not fit tight into the notch of the bridge. This is a big deal of course so I took it to a luthier and had a bone saddle made and installed. He also did some minor fretwork too. I think this is the compromise that you're going to pay for in the QC of these guitars made in China. Otherwise this is a fantastic guitar with solid rosewood back, sides and a solid spruce top . It also has a wonderful, semi chunky c shaped neck with two pieces of rosewood (?) for added stability and wider fretboard that's great for finger picking. Nice binding on the neck so you can't feel the edge of the frets at all. It sounds great too, and has inspired me to play more every day. has been doing this for about 40 years and after looking at and playing the Taylor's and Martin's, you can't touch one of this quality for twice the cost. Also it's not a Taylor or Martin "wanna be", it has its own distinctive sonic character and except for the flaw with the saddle I would recommend this to anybody. You would just have to send it back and get another one that suited you, and that's exactly what I would've done if I didn't have a luthier close by.

.I wanted to keep this guitar ,but it would not stay in tune because of the cheap tuners and all the plastic parts ,nut, saddle and bridge pins, but thats not why i returned it ,it had a bad truss rod that i could not adjust. the guitar does sound and look good, you do get what you pay for and this is an example you cant compare it to a martin,in ten years this will lose half its value while the martin will only increase in value.

.I can't say enough good things about this guitar. I've had it a couple months now and it's getting better and better. It has a great bottom end with good clear highs, very well balanced. It felt and played great right out of the box. The fit and finish was perfect, the sunburst is very classy looking, and the case was great too. The pickup sounds very warm and the neck (smaller C shape) and action are awesome. It plays almost like an electric guitar. The strings were a tad light, so I'll change up a gauge or two, but otherwise I have no complaints. You can't touch any other solid wood guitar with a nice inlayed rosette for anywhere close to this price.

.The high and the low E strings keep slipping off the fret board. The problem is more acute for the fat E string.Seems to be a problem with the model as it happens on my replacement one too.I returned one already and thinking of returning this one too.
Otherwise, nice sounding guitar and probably the best one at this price.

.I always wanted an excellent guitar. As a beginning guitar player, in the past I bought inexpensive guitars and just was unhappy with the sound of these guitars. I was determined to buy a good guitar and just loved the sound and tone of this guitar. Excellent. I sound great when I play. Super.

.I bought the natural version on sale. I thought it sounded good, but after having a bone nut and saddle and ebony bridge pins installed and lowering the action it is superb. Stays in tune, the pickup is quality, it is beautiful. I would spend the money to up grade it though.

.I was looking for a quality guitar to get back to where I left off many years ago.... as a beginner. It's only been a couple weeks and I pick this thing up several times every day to practice flat picking. I really don't know anything for sure, other than this purchase has significantly improved my daily life. So beautiful in sound and appearance, and always available to challenge and improve my appreciation for music.

.This is a fantastic guitar, my second one. I'd think this was a 1500 - 2000 guitar if I picked it up in a store. It's well made, sounds wonderful and looks amazing. You will NOT regret this purchase!
