I love using this interchangeably with my regular violin. It's very comfortable and light [obviously!], and I love the effects when listening with headphones. It's not completely cilent outside the headphones, but enough for me to play at 1 am without bothering others. .This is very nice. I like it a lot and it looks rather nice. I bought the Navy Blue model. The neck and body is made out of spruce and it looks very nice with the blue varnish. It sounds rather nice, but it can't beat a normal acoustic violin at all. It's rather easy to play and it's not entirely silent. It's quiet, but not "Silent," if that makes any sense. I would describe it quieter than a practice-muted acoustic, but loud enough to actually practice without disturbing anyone.
The lower tones sound more muted than the higher tones. It's a nice sound, but I wish it sounded just a little more acoustic. I recommend this for those who are just getting started with playing an electric violin, but if you are looking for an upgrade you should expect to pay a bit more for better sound.
It came with a custom shoulder rest, headphones, an aux cable, and 2 AA-batteries.
The violin doesn't come with many features in terms of effects. It only has 3 reverb settings, a normal setting, and an analog volume knob. You can use a 1/4" instrument cable to hook it up to a amp or PA system. It has an aux input and a headphone jack with adjustable aux input volume. Great for playing along to other music.
I like it a lot, but in the future I plan on buying a nicer electric violin when I get better at the violin.
