The Revstar RSP20CR is the "professional" model of the range, and I could not be any happier with mine. This is my favorite guitar.Simply put, the build quality of my RSP20CR is incredible. This of course is the top of the Revstar range, the Made in Japan model. I've owned guitars from every major manufacturer you can name, and this guitar stands up with the best of any I have ever owned. The quality of this guitar stands right alongside that of a premium guitar from any of the American makes.
If you're wondering what you get over and above the Revstar 820, with the RSP20CR you get upgraded pickups which are exclusive to this instrument, says they have a silver backing. This guitar also has a tusq nut, comes with hard case, and it has had the Initial Response Acceleration treatment, which says gives the instrument a mature sound starting when new. It also comes with a certificate hand signed and numbered by the builder. There's also an exclusive finish option, the matte black. All these are small improvements over the 820 which make the RSP20 feel like a pro quality instrument in your hands, but the main things you're getting are the upgraded pickups and the made in Japan quality. I also would say that the hardware on this instrument is absolutely first rate, from the tuners to the TonePros bridge, everything about this guitar says it's top quality.
The dry switch is a nice feature, this is much more useful than a coil tap for me - it filters some of the lows out to give you some extra cut-through. Basically it lets you create single-coil like tones without losing output or losing the benefits of hum canceling. Really nice and thoughtful feature.
I can't recommend this enough. is the most underrated manufacturer out there, and after they have basically taken over woodwind and brasswind with their amazing quality in orchestral instruments, it's no surprise that is becoming a force in guitars and amplifiers. Love, love this guitar.

I purchased the "Rusty Rat" version of this guitar. Really an impeccable instrument. isn't kidding when they say they pulled no stops for the Japanese version of this Revstar. (I have not tried the other - I believe - Indonesian versions. I'm sure they're great too).Pros:
Really a beautiful level of detail. Not a flaw on the thing. I own Strats, Les Pauls, and PRSs. This is as good, if not better in terms of fit/finish.
Surprisingly - in a good way - the proprietary "YGD" pickups are truly amazing. I swap out pickups on most of my guitars and I won't be touching these. They're aggressive when you need them to be. But articulate throughout the volume sweep. I'm very, very happy with both bridge and neck. (I use neck for soloing, primarily). I also play in a classic rock/funk cover band - FWIW.
I personally love the look. It can be polarizing. I love when people say, "how old is that thing?" Well, it's brand new!
The push/pull pot does a very convincing job of a single coil. I use it for Stones covers, primarily. Any song that requires that single coil sound - you'll most likely be pleased. It's one of the main reasons I bought it.
Cons:
This is personal, but the neck is not as "chunky" as I had read. In fact, it reminds me more of a 60s SG neck. Quite thin and wide, in fact. Perhaps others are chunkier? Just know that if you're buying for a chunky feel - you may not get it.
Again, personal, but I don't really like the look of the pickup covers. I think they were going for an aged look-type of thing. Really not a big deal at all. It's convincing at a distance. :)
Head dive - also similar to an SG, mine has a bit of head dive. It's not bad - and I've just gotten used to it. But don't be surprised by it.
A very minor nit to pick - the tone pot crackles quite a bit when you turn it. Not sure if it's dirty or if it's on purpose since it's a push/pull? Not that big of a deal. Could just be this one.
