Compared many bass guitars for several months, everything from the j-bass to the musicman. All at 4 times the price. The TRBX304'does it all. It will leave you scratching your head, when comparing basses, you will say "it costs only a fraction of the others", but "plays like the real thing". .I spent almost a year looking at this bass online, be it through Youtube videos, reviews on a whole ton of music sites, you name it I've been there. However, I soon learned the hard truth that NOTHING can ever be accurate enough for you than trying it out for yourself in person. The playability on this thing is great. Very low action and low fret buzz right out of the box. (for me anyways) However, the tone is what killed it for me. To me, it has a very tinny, quack-like sound when playing on the higher strings and ESPECIALLY when using a pick. This bass prides itself in being versatile but it literally sounds TERRIBLE in some instances. However, this is just my opinion, but I would highly caution you to perform extensive research before purchasing this instrument. I REALLY wanted to like this thing. I REALLY did. I had been researching it for a year. But in the end it kind of broke my heart how I had to come to the conclusion that I genuinely did not like the sound of this bass :'(

.this yamaha bass is awesome. and is a bass for any level player. it is a great work horse! perfecty built with great precision. pickups are really nice . matter of fact; i bought two of them recently from mf. a black one, and the mist green. i recommend this bass highly.

.I was not disappointed in this bass. I read the reviews and they are all correct. This is an amazing bass for a great price. I prefer this over my J-bass and my P-bass. I truly love the slim neck. Makes my playing faster. A little fret buzz out of the box but that will happen because of shipping/cold/heat etc. A small fee to fix at guitar shop. Overall, this bass will not disappoint.

.Great yamaha quality, neck is slim narrow and fast, pickups have a conveniant thumb rest built in that i really like. Haven't recorded with it but playing live it sounds fantastic. The eq switch is a nice usable quick feature to get good sounds, as far as other controls it would have been nice to have a midrange knob, as it is you use the pickup blend to kind of dial it in but overall it seems to have more of a scooped sound to the bass. Came setup nice, nearly in tune, nice action. For the price its a good buy if you want active pickups with yamaha build quality.

.Ok, so I currently have 7 basses and have had many more come through my hands over the years. I have Warwicks, Ibanez, ESP, and other brands in this price range and I am telling you that this bass far exceeds any of them in every way. I got the red one. From minor considerations (9 volt battery compartment is awesome, paint is great, looks great) to major points like the tone and playability, this bass has everything anyone could ever want. It's designed brilliantly. They truly thought of everything. I want to get more of either this model or a 504 which is even more upgraded. I am in awe of 's craftsmanship and engineering now.

.Beautiful Bass Guitar nice contour, bought as a gift for son. The instructor and the set up guitar tech said very nice. The Fret buzz was taken care of with the set up although it seems to be back slightly. Liven in Northern Wisconsin with the weather being what it is (season changes), you may have that. The tech said a few adjustments maybe necessary
