the DBR 12 has a much deeper bass than the 10. I would recommend going straight to the 12 or 15 to begin with. Can compete well with other speakers in clarity, boldness, and capacity to handle any task.

.I got these after reading many reviews for powered speakers. I have been using a pair of MSR 250 but needed more powerful speakers now that our duo has turned into a 5 piece band. These speakers do quite well in close proximity and we need that quality as most of the venues we perform in have limited space for bands. The tone is quite good and the speakers are adaptable with the various settings. The weight is light enough to be fairly easy to deal with. We put vocals, acoustic guitar, electronic drums, piano and some bass into the system. That's a lot to ask but they handle it without any audible distortion. products have always performed well in my experience with never a failure yet. I perform several times a month and would buy these again.

.I use this as my on-stage monitor at performances as well as at band rehearsals.

.When investing in these speakers for live music, your money goes far. Very far. I have used mine in many different settings. Mostly for live gigs, or background music at parties. I plug direct with my acoustic guitar, and the sound is phenomenal. (Taylor w/Expression system) The speaker doubles as my monitor, or main, whatever is needed. My advice to anyone who does small (50 - 250 seat) live performances; get one or two of these and you will be blown away by the quality, clarity, and power. You'll be glad you did.

.Used 2 of these for keyboards at small gigs (50 - 100 people). Loud enough to compete with guitars (overly loud guitars as usual), bass & drums, with speaker volume at about 8 out of 10. Clear, light weight, brand...all good....may get one more for a monitor.
