I just received this guitar from MF today. I own a Martin D-28 but I wanted a less expensive OM size guitar for a 2nd guitar and chose this one because of the all solid wood, the price, and 's reputation.I am very impressed with everything about this guitar, but I am especially impressed with how open it sounds. It rings like a bell and it is very lightweight. The action and set up are good, and the wood looks very nice. Really, it feels and sounds a lot like my Martin D-28 but in the OM size. It sounds better than the Blueridge BR-263 (OM size all solid wood Martin OM copy) guitar that I used to own. I am very pleased with it. It comes with a nice old school hardshell case as well. If you don't want to spend 3 times as much for the Martin, which of course is better, then this is a very good less expensive alternative.

.I've had my ls16r for about ten days and I'm very happy with it. It's a beautiful guitar (brown burst color) with a wide, open range and plenty of volume for the smaller body style. I never use a pick and for my playing style of finger strumming and finger picking, the neck profile, action, and setup of this guitar feels very nice. To my novice eye, the workmanship and quality of the guitar construction is exceptional…quality to price balance, in my opinion, would be hard to match with other acoustic guitar brands. The guitar came with brand strings described as "anti-rust" with patent pending…admittedly, I not very fond of these strings and will be replacing them after a couple more playing sessions. The hard shell case seems to be a little flimsy; however, I believe it will provide adequate storage protection. I'm very excited to play with this new friend and know she will give me many years of blissful playing pleasure.
As usual, purchasing through MF was smooth and an easy process. The guitar was shipped (via UPS) with very secure, reassuring packaging and arrived within a few days of ordering.

This is a beautiful guitar. I ordered mine in a sunburst . The workmanship is great, there is nothing to complain about in this department. The guitar came in tune and the action was fine for me. Sound is great for fingerpicking and you strum is as loud as you want it to be.i owned a fgs700s and was so impressed that I was willing to spend the money on this one. If you believe that Martin and Taylor are the only guitars to.buy you spending more then you have to. Give a try.As always MF is a great place to deal with. .Originally looking for an all solid wood parlor as I have many acoustic guitars and wanted a small body guitar for acoustic gigs. Always read good things about guitars and started looking at the LS16. I am really impressed with the quality of this guitar. I have been playing this guitar every day since it arrived and it is really opening up nicely and has a very balanced sound as well as being quite loud for its size. It also sounds great plugged in. I am also considering picking up the big brother LL16 for straight acoustic gigs where I can't plug in for a little extra bottom end as I really love the action on the LS16 . Bang for the buck is amazing. I have guitars that cost me a lot more and don't play and sound as good as the Yamy.

.I bought this guitar after hearing some demo's on line and looking at reviews. I was able to snag one from Custom Guitar's friend for half price. It was a scratch and dent deal. The only thing wrong was the pick guard was coming unglued and separating. I took the pick guard off and it looks beautiful without it. This guitar has so much tone and power and projection! It's a smaller body guitar but has more of everything you want than a regular size dreadnought! I call it "The Beast"! Love the feel and the looks! Very comfortable to play.
