The USB port allows plug and play control of VSTi software and lets you import custom wave files.
Using proprietary laser technology to analyze drum strokes, we precisely tuned the trigger settings on the DTX502 series resulting in a more natural feeling with laser accuracy. The hi-hat system of the DTX562K features a dual-zone trigger pad (for edge and bow sounds) that mounts to the included hi-hat stand for realistic pedal action and versatile positioning. Moreover, the hi-hat can express various styles of play such as open/close position, closed pedal and foot splash. You can even play tip and edge voices for adding subtle nuances to the beat!
The DTX562K also features professional 3-zone cymbal pads, which can express a different sound in each of the cup, bow and edge zones. These cymbals have a good stick feel and low acoustic noise, which is essential for electronic drums when used for private practice. In addition to a very natural swaying motion, they also have the "choke" function 360-degrees around the edge. You can even mute the cymbal before striking it - a DTX exclusive feature!

Remarkably well packaged. A terrific practice tool, this kit is extremely versatile. Using the kit is simple and intuitive; sound quality is excellent. Some of the preset kits trigger weird and useless sounds; they should be replaced with kits modeling more drums constructed from other woods, drums of different diameters, or other realistic variables seen in acoustic kits. .Having played an acoustic set all my life, I did not expect much from this kit. Wow, was I surprised. Even the cymbals have a nice feel and sound. The versatility of this kit is amazing. I wish I could add more than one additional cymbal, since my acoustic kit has 7 cymbals. I may never go back to my full acoustic set with all the heavy hardware. Nice job, !

.I use this with the church praise team without a dedicated drum amplifier, it's run through a Imp2 Direct box to the mixer board. Allows the mixer to add in drums as necessary so the music doesn't have to be super loud and the drummer doesn't have to be in a Dunk Tank, makes a much better sounding mix.
It's a project to initially assemble it took me a little over 2 hours. I didn't put that in as a con because there are just a lot of parts it's not a propblem with the instructions or anything like that it's just time consuming.
It plays great! I thought it looked to small but it's quite comfortable to play. The versatility of the electronic module is great, being able to change the type of kit etc. The electronics are pretty straight forward to operate.
