Obviously this isn't a high end Gibson acoustic, but for the price, this guitar comes close. Even the gig bag, strap, strings, video, and electronic tuner are great for the starting musician.
Fantastic tuners, excellent video included, amazing electronic tuner, and a beautiful and easy to play acoustic guitar.
For its price, this guitar has excellent quality. I've had it for about 5 years, and its still got a gorgeous tone and feel.
The value of this guitar is 10 merely because its one of the few guitars I own that has never given me a problem and maintains a great sound after years and years of use.

.All too often, starter guitars are unplayable, which can be very discouraging to the beginning guitarist. That is not the case here.I bought this guitar as a starter guitar for my son and was very pleasantly surprised at the tone and the playability. The neck is a managable scale and the action out of the box is just right.

This is a great starter guitar and I would highly recommend it to anyone looking to equip a beginning player!

.I BOUGHT THIS GUITAR AND A HARD SHELL CASE FOR MY DAUGHTER A YEAR AGO. I DECIDED I WOULD BUY MYSELF A GUITAR AND WANTED THIS MODEL BECAUSE IT PLAYED SO WELL AND THE PRICE WAS RIGHT. IM VERY SATISFIED AND WOULD BUY THIS MODEL AGAIN. I HAVE DONE BUSINESS WITH MUSICIANS FRIEND BEFORE AND HAVE CONFIDENCE IN THE COMPANY AND THE WAY THEY DO BUSINESS.
THANKS A LOT

.I've owned this rig for close to two years now. I have been teaching myself to play and performing with it by attending jams and open mics. The sound has really "opened up" over that time and I'm rather astonished that such an inexpensive guitar can sound so beautiful. The DVD is very, very helpful for starting out playing guitar for the first time. The tuner is useful. The gig bag is a little awkward to stuff the guitar into as the tuners and string ends tend to snag the inside of it. I've added a strap button to the heel of the neck and a Seymour Duncan Acoustic Tube pickup and happily play this guitar in public. It sounds terrific.I did have an issue with the corners of the bridge starting to de-laminate. This caused a severe bow and "belly" in the top as those corners tie most of the stress from the string tension to the internal "X" bracing. A little cyanoacrylate glue with the strings off corrected that problem. If I had to replace this guitar and price was a consideration, I'd buy another without hesitation.

.I am very pleased with my purchase of this guitar. This was my first guitar and i am inexperienced. However, my brother-in-law has been playing for a few decades, so i asked him to tune the guitar for me, which he did. He said it sounded good. It also held its tune. I tried out the tuner and was able to tune it for myself. So far so good. i have had it about 1 year.

.I have owned this guitar since 2006, and it is a pretty decent starter guitar EXCEPT the action is about a mile high. For non-guitar people, this is the distance from the strings to the fretboard. You don't want it to be high, especially when you are learning, because it makes it harder to press down on the strings. Since this is a beginner instrument, making it with high action is counter productive. It is a good price, and it is novel to get all the accessories, but there are better beginner level guitars. Start off on a playable instrument and you will want to stick with it. Start out on a cumbersome, difficult instrument and you will not want to continue playing.

I would not recommend this to a beginner, but if you are experienced and looking for a beater guitar or you want to take the time and expense to lower the action, this is not bad at all.

.Just started my guitar "career" at 41, and this is the perfect guitar on which to learn. I bought the re-stock and thought it was a terrific value. It sounds good and comes with everything I needed to get started. Love it!

.I've been playing for over 30 years with the last 8 spent playing a Martin D15 Custom I bought from MF. I recently started to teach a small class of middle school students and realized I needed more guitars than the 3 acoustics I've been using. Although the D15 has a few scars from numerous gigs, I've worried about its well-being. I've been looking for decent but inexpensive guitars for the class and as possible recommendations to my students. I bought the gigmaker pack from a local store this afternoon on the recommendation of the manager (who I bought my 1st guitar from in 1981) and my firt impression has been positive. I like the sound. The sunburst finish and tortoise pickguard look good. The tuners seem to be good as is the overall fit and finish. The action seems pretty good but is more fatiguing than the D15, perhaps due in part to heavier strings (12-53) than the extra lights (11-50) I'm used to. The frets seem well seated and there are no sharp or rough edges.
This seems to be a very nice guitar, especially considering the price. The extras in the pack are a bonus. The gigbag is very thin and since the guitar will be transported once a week I'll order the case tomorrow. I've not tried the tuner but needed a backup (my Sabine still works well with electrical tape). I'll watch the DVD to determine its utility with my beginning students. I'll install a second strap button and replace the strings when they dull with GHS ELs. I'll order an Epiphone DR100 tomorrow along with the case for the .
At this point, I would feel very comfortable recommending this guitar (and pack) to my students. The tuner (assuming it functions well) is a necessity (pitch pipes are next to useless for most beginners).

.I bought this pack almost two years ago, and have been extremely happy with it. The tone has held up very well. If you are looking for a guitar to start with, but don't want to spend a lot of money on one before you know if you will be able to play (like I did) this is a great choice.
