Okay, I bought this guitar because I thought it looked really cool. I liked the reverse headstock, the red Jackson logo, the black neck binding and inlays. I was on the fence with the red body binding, but when the guitar arrived, I was happy with it. And this is a very good looking guitar. Other positives include the maple fretboard, the satin neck finish and balance of the instrument, which was surprisingly good for a Rhoads-style V. The Jackson made Floyd Rose seemed like it was good quality.

But I did end up sending it back to MF. The biggest reason was that the black plastic inlays did not sit flush with the fretboard. Huge problem right there. You could see it with the naked eye. I was also unimpressed with the plastic pick guard. I've played other Rhoads V's and the pick guard was metal. The neck was a little fatter than on the other Jackson's I own. Overall, this guitar felt kinda cheap. I knew I wouldn't be happy with it long term.

But you might like it. I'm extremely anal about my guitars. Someone less anal might overlook these flaws. Tone wise and play-ability it was pretty good. Craftsmanship was the issue.

.This guitar looks amazing and is well shaped, however is does have a few flaws you should be aware of.
First, the back of the neck doesn't feel right, like it got sanded with a high-grain sandpaper but not oiled, painted, or lacquered properly.
Second, I doubt the fretboard has been treated beyond sanding either, but is very smooth, if a little soft feeling.
Third, that's not binding on the fretboard, it's dye or ink.
And lastly, the Jackson trem (Floyd Rose knock-off that it is) feels poor under my hand and the wammy-bar is stupidly loose. I can't find a sweet spot to tighten it so that it swings freely without the risk of it coming off.

Overall, It should be fifty, or one hundred, cheaper to purchase, so wait for a sale and get it then. Other than that, it's a good jamming and practice guitar after you replace the 9g strings with something heavier that won't cut into your fingers.

.I bought this after being really impressed with the neck on my Oil Rubbed Mahogany JS32 Dinky. It plays well. I have to use a strap and it will not sit on a guitar stand. It sounds great on all 3 pickup selections and the neck is even faster than the Dinky.
