I bought one for my grandson. After some minor set-up, I took it to the gig for a test run. I am not exagerating when I say this guitar chewed up my bandmate's 800 dollar Gibson Les Paul Studio. Amazing guitar for the price! So I ordered another one for me. I have been a pro for over 30 years and if it's good enough for me, it's good enough for the beginner on your list. THIS IS A VERY SOLID AND SOMEWHAT HEAVY GUITAR, YOU KNOW WHEN SOMETHING FEELS GREAT IN YOUR HANDS AND SOUNDS GREAT COMING OUT OF THE AMP. .I've had this for a year and the jack is broken and it does not have a great sound... I bought this as an "improvement" to another one I had... It was not an improvement.

.Never thought I would buy a guitar at this price but with a guaranty figured it was worth a shot. From the first practice, I have been getting compliments from my bandmates. Solid sound, stays in tune and gives me that nice early 60's reverb slap sound I am looking for. So Far I Can't find any negatives.
