yeah the stock pickups are cheap and wired for the most displeasurable feedback. but thats me pushing this Metal Beauty to her limits. This guitar is not Designed or Electronically equipped for playing shows, Long band practices. It is Designed for the Beginner or the guy who wants a guitar to keep practice on or write on. It's made for at home jamming, not much else. Not only is feedback horridis in a band scenerio it lacks the fire power as well. I pulled out the Schecter C-1 after a while because my drummer complained he couldn't hear me. Your kid will love this or if your looking for a cheap practice guitar that you can hall around in the van to gigs and not be worried about being in the hole if it breaks. This is the guitar for you. It is a Fantastic Offardable guitar. but as with all Music Gear Fantastic Offardable doesn't always mean Ready to Gig Metal Monster. But i love this thing. I was going to get a Jackson. But i played this Strapped for cash at the moment. I won't play anything but ESP and they're V Series guitars. I love the Access to all the Frets coming from playing Schecter style and SG styled bodies. My Jaw literally Dropped. Overall if your like me and you always thought V's looked cool but weren't sure if they were for you, Get this guitar.
I Only Give the Features a 7 because it's a pretty Basic Set up. One Volume, One Tone.
But thats all you need. I love the neck Thin-U Really lets you Move around and is great for those big chords that require you to stretch. It feels smooth and of Course it's a V so you have Literally access to the entire fret board.
I Give Quality a 6. Because The pickups sound great in a practice amp at low volumes and such. Took this to band practice because it's currently my only guitar, Feedback like a mother horse. Of course it's not made for Stage or anything. so thats not really why i dinged it so low. My output Jack has been coming loose at an irritating and concerning continuation. I'm sure it's my fault. forgetting to unplug it at times. but it just shouldn't be doing that. I've had more cheap guitars that i'd care to mention. it's common among all of the cheap ones. but still...it's frustrating.
You are indeed paying for what you get.

.Purchased my V-50 in West Hollywood the night before my band played the Whisky A Go-Go. Changed out the weak light guage strings the company had on for medium-heavy Dunlops and it was off to the races (I play in standard tuning I just prefer heavier strings). The guitar performed superbly as I had expected. I have been using a stock LTD EX-50 as my primary guitar for years and it has never let me down so I knew I wanted an LTD/ESP when I was shopping around for a V guitar (plus it's pretty much the striped down version of Dave Mustaine's ESP signature). These are perfect gigging guitars and they can handle the kind of abuse that only thrash metal can dish out and they're cheap enough to where you won't weep when it gets nicked, dinged or scratched.

.i got mine at guitar center and its the best axe i have had in years , it plays and sounds great ," i would recommend it to anyone . after i bought it i wouldnt put it down for hours even when i test drove it before i bought it they asked me if i was gonna buy it or put it back so i put on the counter and "" wrap it up i'll take it . "" was grinning ear to ear when i got home and the ol'lady said when you gonna stop playing and my son said that's sweet .
it has good neck action ", the pickup are good for being stock and its not too heavy
it's built just right on the quality of materials

.My friends bought this guitar for me as a gift. They purchased it used from Guitar Center. You can't beat the value of this guitar. The pickups are hotter than I would expect in this price range, and I couldn't be happier with it. again can't beat the value. The neck plays excellent too.

.Bought this at a Guitar Center. I was in need of a low-budget guitar and had my heart set on a V. I got a bit of a discount, due to a tiny chip in the paint, so I went ahead and got it. For a $250 guitar, it's pretty sweet. I personally find it more comfortable than some of the other V's and it's got a good weight to it. Overall, I give it 2 thumbs up!

.Overall this guitar blew me away. I was expecting something way different. The lows were amazing and highs were clear. The only problem I had was the 23 and 24 fret sounds did quite come out. For the price this guitar kicks the rest out the door.I Highly recommend it.

.This guitar blew me away. I went to Guitar Center to pickup a Jackson JS32T Rhoads model and while looking for it i saw this. I figured i'd mess with it for a couple seconds then realized i liked it 10x more than the Jackson. Nothin against the Jackson, its good too but i liked the fact that the neck is painted and not unfinished. I also loved the sound through every amp i tried it through, even in drop c this thing sounded crisp and amazing and not the slightest bit muddy. Fantastic. And with the 50 i saved i could buy a nice bag and some strings picks (dunlop 2 mm Gator grips and 10-46 dunlop zakk wylde)
