Product Features

If your tone is your masterpiece, the DT25 tube guitar amp head is your paintbrush. This 25W/10W tube amp from Line 6 and tube-amp guru Reinhold Bogner gives you four stunning, lust-worthy amp voicings and unprecedented versatility that lay the foundation for you to build your perfect tone.

The powerful combination of reconfigurable analog components and HD modeling allows the DT25 head to be four boutique tube amps in one, capable of producing stunning American cleans, British crunch, class A chime, and modern high-gain tones. Selectable operating class, power tube mode, and four Voicings (which offer the perfect combinations of negative feedback loop topology, and HD preamp and tone stack modeling) can dial in classic vintage tones or be shaped into highly customized originals - and each one drips with boutique tone and touch-response.

The DT25 amp gets to the point. It's a simple, two-channel amp with a streamlined front panel. But if you connect a POD HD multi-effect pedal or POD HD Pro multi-effect rack to this little monster the two integrate to become a boutique tube amp factory!

Connected via exclusive L6 LINK technology, the DT25 amp and POD multi-effect rewrite the traditional amp/multi-effect paradigm and introduce powerful new concepts in control and customization. Add effects, additional amp voicings, foot control and instant scalability (including stereo operation with multiple DT25 amplifiers). DT25 is the perfect pairing for POD HD multi-effects. The days of plugging a POD into the front of an amp are over!

Revolutionary Bogner tube design meets Line 6 HD modeling
The Voicing switch is the heart of DT25 amp. It conjures the characteristic tone, feel and response that are at the heart of four celebrated amp voicings: American clean, British crunch, class A chime and modern high-gain. Different negative feedback loop topologies pair with HD preamp and tone stack modeling to produce the perfect tonal springboards for you to craft your perfect tones:

¢ Voicing I: Classic American Clean (tight negative feedback loop)
¢ Voicing II: British Crunch (medium negative feedback loop)
¢ Voicing III: Class A Chime (zero negative feedback loop)
¢ Voicing IV: Modern, High-Gain (resonant negative feedback loop)

Selectable operating class and power tube mode
Take your tone in many different directions with the selectable operating classes and power tube modes. Mix and match them with the Voicing switch to dial in truly unique tones. Or align the components in tried-and-true combinations to deliver fresh takes on the immortal classics.

¢ Selectable operating classes - Class AB/25 watts/fixed bias; Class A/10 watts/cathode biased
¢ Selectable power tube modes - Pentode; Triode

Any two amps you want, separated by a single channel switch
The two channels can be set to any combination of Voicing, operating class and power tube mode, so the channel switch is more like an A/B switch connected to two different amps. (Or, for a boost channel, set the channels the same with one a little louder.)

For example, set Channel A to a California clean tone. It can be complete with a high amount of negative feedback for a tight sound, characteristic class AB headroom and plenty of pentode-powered body. Set Channel B to deliver vintage Class A chime with zero negative feedback for an open, dynamic feel. Triode mode darkens the tone a bit and rounds off the edges, and Class A operation provides no shortage of touch sensitivity when you dig in with your pick. That's total analog and digital reconfiguration in one touch.

DT25 amplifier + POD HD multi-effect = Boutique tube amp factory
DT25 amplifiers and POD HD multi-effects don't just connect, they seamlessly integrate to transform into a boutique tube amp factory capable of creating any tone you need with incredible tone and feel. POD HD multi-effects come to the party with additional models including 20+ HD amp models, 20+ HD guitar preamp-only models, huge collections of effects, cabs, mics and more. With a single L6 LINK connection, you get:

¢ Automatic analog configuration. Select a POD HD amp model or preset and the DT25 analog components will automatically configure themselves to the appropriate operating class, biasing method, negative feedback topology and power tube mode.

¢ Save custom analog configurations. Saving your custom DT25 configurations is as easy as saving POD HD presets. Tweak the DT25 amp settings, press Save on the POD HD multi-effect and incredibly unique and complex amp configurations can be recalled instantly.

¢ No ground loops. You'll never get ground loop hum from an L6 LINK connection!

Unlike most who write these reviews I'm not a highly skilled accomplished player. Been playing a long time..but never will be the lead anywhere. But I was looking for an amp with a polished, warm sound. One that didn't sound weak or cheesy. All I know is this thing right out of the box just floored me. with the 4 voicings per channel and then the triode/pentode switch with the class ab/a switch each change causes a definite change in sound and feel. I play at the blues.. not metal or hard rock... so this thing has those deep breathy voicings that remind me of someone playing in a stairwell with reverberations and sonic clarity that just go on forever. I thought about the Egnator and the H & K tubemiester... each had a quality I wanted but this thing with the ability to hook up to the HD Line6 pedals..made me go in that direction... I am really inspired and hope to spend hours and hours just exploring.

.A great decision to purchase this amp. I use it with with a custom made 2X12 Speaker Cab with Marshall green backs and love the tones coming out of them. Highly recommend the DT25 for its potability, versatility and sound. Will stand up to its bigger brothers in loudness and in quality to similar boutique amps ( I also own the Eggnatter Rebel 30 -- didnt think I would need another amp in this category but the demo clips and ultimately my test drive after I got it convinced me I would enjoy this amp as much or better for a good while).
Great little amp. I say little because compared to my Marshall JCM 2000, this is a light weight.
Main reasonI got it. Exquisite fat tones at all volume levels -- the low volume feature is excellent for practice without getting the neighboors too exited -- love the ability to switch voicings and tube power. Very marked difference in ton.
Seems built like a tank. Nice / accessible and easy to read knob controls and toggles. I am only worried about the leather handle; although it looks nice and classy, with time and sweat it will probably deteriorate faster than a rubber one .... but I guess it is worth it cosmetically while it lasts. All hardware seems top notch quality
I got an excellent price for this Unit from MF... awesome savings !!!

.First things first. I was in the market for an amp to replace my Orange TH30 Combo. I was satisfied with the Orange but just needed a much more quiet alternative. Having four school-age children, I mostly get to play when they are all in bed, with the occasional afternoon by myself. I figured my best bet would be to go digital, as I needed quality sound at the lowest of volumes.

Prior to the DT25, my only foray into the digital amp realm was a POD (kidney shape) I purchased somewhere between 2002-2005. I ran this through the power amp of my fender twin reverb. Needless to say, I sold it shortly there after, and haven't paid attention to Line 6 in quite a while. I was very intrigued when I began reading about this amp and the premise behind it's inception. However, at 25 watts, this amp did not appear to be an actual solution to my problem, VOLUME. But after learning of the Low Volume Mode which allows you to play with killer tone at bedroom levels (yes I know that playing in that Mode takes the tube power stage out of the signal path), I wanted to learn more.

After watching several demos, I ordered the DT25 and matching Cab. Here's the obligatory list of previously owned amps that is supposed to establish some sort of credibility on my part: I've previously owned a Fender Twin, Marshall TSL602, Mesa Lonestar, Mesa Stiletto, Mesa Roadster, Carvin V3M, Orange Rockerverb 50 and the TH30. I am going on record as saying I will never sell this amp. Like most people, I've always wanted the perfect amp that simultaneously had the sweetest cleans and the tastiest dirt. This is the first time I've fulfilled that desire. Also, this is about as 'plug and play' as you are going to get. I brought a ton of skepticicm (having owned nothing but 'tube' amps) with me into this purchase, but that has been replaced with pure satisfaction. I do wish that the British (Marshal like) model they had on this amp had a tad more gain like at least a DSL, but I'll be alright.

.I love this amp .. however the voicings have markedly different volume levels.. switching from one to anothere requires constant adjustment ( I bought a hd500 so I can balance all the outputs with it) also anyone who would just automatically scoop out the channels may want to rethink this and set everything to 12oclock and dial it in . I find the amp to be very bright if you up the treble more than a smidge, and if you drop out the mids too much it sounds a bit unnatural. the double rectifier is way to loud if switheing from any of the other voicings.. be aware of this to avoid calls from the neighbors.... great amp in its own right but it really begs for an hd500

.All four selectable amp models are very good sounding. I love the ability to set it in class A or A/B mode. If that is good enough you can also select either triode or pentode mode. it only takes a minute to find the exact tone your looking for using these options. Then once your done finding your perfect setting you can set up a selelectable second channel with independent EQ and switch between the two. The amp has plenty of headroom to play any size venue. It's really a top shelve amp with a big full sound. I've been using this amp for live performances for several years and have never had any problems with it.
