Worked seamlessly with my iPhone 5S on day one. The Mobile Pod app is amazing. The effects are on par with my Digitech RP 20 Valve. I can use the multi app functionality directly through GarageBand to use the amp effects with Mobile Pod.
I wouldn't say I have a lot of experience playing semi-professionally, but experienced novice playing indie garage in a small home studio. I find the mess of wires with 20 pedals is replaced with this easy to use device. I can carry this to jam at friends houses with a few extra cables to wire into their amps through the VX. I can just use my polytune chromatic tuner, guitar, and sonic port VX along with headphones or 1/4 balanced out cables.

This has made putting my guitar sounds directly into GarageBand so much easier. Instead of running through 8 pedals, to an Akai EIE, to a BR-800 recorder and software on my windows 7 laptop to then import the audio to GarageBand, I go direct to where I want to be when I need to get an idea recorded. This probably won't replace your pedals, stomping something while playing live still feels better than trying to scroll and tap, but for not annoying my girl, my dog, and my neighbors- this is great.

Also, like me, if you are debating going for the least pricey model, without the mic built in... This was so worth the extra price. It comes in handy to switch to record vocal tracks on the same device.

The biggest shortfall is the specialized cable for AC power. It is so short that a mic stand wouldn't really work so well for mounting. The short cable to connect your iOS device is also almost useless unless you make a cradle for it that is mounted close to the stand for the device.

.Read review, saw youtube video, Found Custom Guitar's Friend deal and bought on the spot! Line6 is leading the new wave of fantastic portable recording ability. Expect a barrage of Instant talent introductions via the Sonic VX! I had a snag hooking up my older iPad and a 30 pin/Lightening gender changer fixed that ... no noticeable sound degradation at all. The Sonic opens up the world of professional recording for mere pennies. Nobody offers the options, nobody offers the affordable superb quality compared to Line6 products. All around there is no downsides for this product. Wow!

.I bought this product today. The worst possible. I am pretty tech savvy. No possible way to set this up. But, please go to their website. Here's what you will experience.... Buy this, buy that, buy more. Of course your product doesn't work.... but if you buy more it will. Really we promise. Avoid at all costs.

.I have recorded a few songs with a professional studio engineer and producer before and finally decided to try on my own. I couldn't build booth or buy expensive power amp, digital converter, condense mic, interface or etc. Even with the least expensive set up, I would have to spend right around a thousand. This doesn't include all the driver installations and hassles that I have to go through to make everything compatible. However, this Sonic Port VX came in one package. I'm using it with Apple Mini and its Garage Band. It took less than 5 min to install the driver and to be ready to lay down a track. One of the best purchases I've ever made. I strongly recommend this product for any beginners.

.If you are looking for and audio interface and micro record studio quality projects in GarageBand, look no further. The built in condenser mic sounds amazing! After using an iRig 2 for a while, I knew I needed something that didn't have as much digital noise. A friend let me try his Sonic Port (not VX) and I was amazed at the clarity. No noise whatsoever! A quick google search later delivered me to the Sonic Port VX, which had the built in condenser mic. Needing a way to mic both vocals and acoustic guitar, this was the perfect solution. If you are in the market and want to see more, go to Line 6's YouTube channel and watch the video series "Tips and Tricks Recording with Sonic Port VX." You will not be disappointed.

.Device with lots of connections, but it fails on mic sound quality! Lots of background noise, there's no way you van get a clean mic sound out of it, I believe their YouTube demos are fake. I checked I have a functional unit as some friends have the exactly same problem. Guitar input is clean but it misses a input gain control.

.For years I've used a line 6 pod in my studio as a quick decent software solution for guitar tone and effects. When I saw this I thought it might be a good practice and recording tool for me when I'm on the road and away from my home studio. Nope, I'm not sure how to describe just how bad the sounds are, and recommend it for any use without insulting fellow musicians and consumers. All the tones have a hollow, thin lifeless and tinny sound. Every tone has a quality of distortion that you just don't hear from any kind of pro quality amp I've ever heard. The mic that is in the unit sounds like one of those cheap bargain bin mics you'd get for your computer for skyping. And while using the software through my iPhone 7, there's a loud snapping sound that makes using it painfully annoying. I'll be getting a refund on the return for this thing, but I'll never get back the time I've put in to trying to get it to work for me. DON'T BUY!!!

.Wait till you see the instructions. Or should I say what instructions. What a joke

.I was looking for an all-in-one solution to upgrade from my traveling kit of iRig HD and a lightning to USB cable for a blue yeti mic, however the Sonic Port VX is not compatible with the iPad pro. I tried contacting line 6 and the customer service was awful. Every product I own is Line 6 (practice amp, live gigging equipment including L3t speaker, HD500X effects processor) and this is the worst I've seen yet. While I've heard others have no issues with anything but the iPad pro, I'd say give it a try. if you have an iPad pro, don't even bother buying it. It's worthless.

If you connect it to an iPad pro, the level light intermittently blinks orange. You can see that there's a level on your iPad app (mobile pod / bias FX) but no sound comes out regardless of what selection you choose. If line6 comes out with a solution in the future for this, more power to them. Until then, pretty terrible that my 3 year old iRig HD is more reliable than a brand new sonic port vx.
