The connection between the ios app and the amp has always been flaky for me. Yesterday the app did a firmware update on the amp, and ever since then it refuses to talk to the amp. So i'm basically dead in the water for controlling the amp via the ipad app. The amp still works fine as a bluetooth speaker from the ipad when this is happening, so it doesn't appear to have anything to do with the actual bluetooth connection. This issue makes the amp unusable in any real world playing situation other than just using the 4 built in tone memories available in the amp.
The software for controlling the amp is badly designed in my opinion. The only way to access a pre-built tone is via searching for one by song title on-line, or just building your own from scratch. Any other multi-effects unit on the planet would provide a set of well thought out pre-built factory presets you could easily audition and move between.
I guess the designers of this product envision that it's only users will be people who want to play along with a song in their itunes library at home, end of story.
I own other line 6 products, like pod effects and a modeling guitar, and always found them quite functional in real world playing situations. not true for this product. a major disappointment.

.I've owned this amp since the day it became available. Purchased it solely as a bedroom amp, and it's perfect in that role. I can get a huge array of tones with minimal effort. I've loaded up my IPad and will think I'll play with a drum loop or jam track or two but end up playing along with some of my favorite songs. It's a great practice tool.
That said I wouldn't use the amplifi 75 for anything more than jamming with friends. It has some decent tones, but there is no warm tone to be had.
Without an iOS device good luck using this thing. I also feel the software can be bulky when it lists out songs to stream via Bluetooth or when looking at user presets.
It also feels kind of unfinished. I don't know why there is no storage on the device, or drum loops built in. I don't always want to use an iOS device and I'm crippled if I don't want to bother.
In summary, great for practice and small jams. I would not record with it though.

.What sets this item apart, assuming you have an IOS device with some good music on it, is the Amplifi 75's ability to find tones that match what song you are playing. It does this automatically. Whether you play along with the song or not, you can save that tone under "my tones" and have it at your disposal for future use. I found some incredible acoustic guitar tones as well as a very nice "sounds like the Beatles" tone. This feat alone is remarkable. Throw in the sound editor that allows you to create your own or tweak someone else's tones and you begin to realize what Line 6 has accomplished. Ground breaking isn't too strong a phrase here. Sound quality when playing my IPAD music is excellent.
Having read multiple mixed reviews I was a bit torn as to whether to purchase or not. I can say my expectations have been exceeded. One word of caution when using. Make sure that you reboot, cold start your IPAD OR IPHONE to clear out software running in the background. And check to make sure on the AMPLIFI menu that you are "connected" as opposed to "synching". If you are not connected, the sounds on your IPAD or IPHONE will not be heard, only the default sounds that are on the amp itself....btw....these default sounds can be set to your favorites very easily as pointed out in the instructions.
In summary, if you were thinking about purchasing one of the new Amplifi amps (75 or 150) you needn't worry. You'll likely be blown away by this clever amplification system. Hats off to Line 6 for taking it to another level.

.Ok, I have to give 1 star because apparently I cannot give 0 stars. Maybe I got a dud? Sounded like a really cool practice amp when I read the description and featrues. I like playing along with songs I have in my music library but I had been using a Bose bluetooth speaker to play the songs while I play guitar through my regular amp. I thought with the Amplifi I could eliminate the Bose speaker and I was excited to hear the beautiful sound of the 5 speaker system. Not only that, the Amplifi would match the tone on the songs I play without me having to adjust any settings! Well, I wasn't able to do any of that! I contacted Line 6 support and it took them 3-4 days to respond. They told me I needed to update firmware and download software. I must have spent 2-3 hours trying to update and download and still nothing works right. Their downloads don't even work right and they know it because when the download doesn't work they tell you to download a fix, which also does not work. I went back and forth with support for several days. Then they told me I need to clear out the bluetooth memory and then try updating and downloading everything again. I gave up! Way too much trouble! I can't tone match and I can't even access the 25 banks of preset themes. What I have in this Amplifi is a really bad sounding amp that doesn't do anything they say it does. I also bought their foot pedal to go with the Amplifi but both items are going in the trash. It would be way too cruel for me to give this to someone. LIne 6 never resolved any of my issues but for some reason they think I am a happy customer. I decided to stick with my Blackstar ID Core amp which sounds so much better than the Amplifi and is super easy to use. The Blackstar ID Core has superwide stereo which sounds great!

.I was very excited about buying this amp. It has plenty of options via the free iOS app. As a Bluetooth speaker it sounds amazing! The 5-speaker system has thumping bass and crystal clear treble. Unfortunately this same sound qualiy does not apply to the guitar tone. Finding the best EQ for my guitar is tricky - I still don't feel like I've found the that sweet spot like I did (much more easily) with my Spider IV 30. Line 6 says your preamp goes out through the 8" "custom" speaker and the post amp effects go through the tweeters for a dry / wet mix. Yes I can hear my effects but they are not crystal clear as I expected. Half the time it sounds like my guitar sound is coming out through a cardboard box.
Having said all that, I am not a gear snob, and a I'm a beginner when it comes to signal chains and tone control. I'm more of the set it and forget it type - once I find a tone I like I set it and control mostly from the guitar. So for me it's like a kid in a candy store playing with all of the possibilities. I really like being able to stream and play at the same time. I play in church and I can rehearse with the songs at home. I also like the app because it has so many ways to shape the tone (I never had any of the Pods or HDs so that's new for me). The app does have some annoying bugs and hopefully Line 6 will continue to improve this interface as it is practically the only way you can control the amp (the on board controls don't really do anything).

.Those of us who have been around for a long time realize that Line 6 just won't let this idea go. It's basically a Pod XT with an amp and speaker that has an android/IOS app. So instead of using a PC to edit you can use bluetooth with a smart device. But like I said, those of us whove been around know it's the same Line 6 idea with Bluetooth. Not that it sounds bad, but it's their same amp emulation they've had for a million years packaged a new way. As usual it sounds good but don't expect real tube dynamics or real world effect response from emulation. If you've played a pod with a solid state power amp you've heard what one of these sounds like.

.I bought this to practice at home and it's brilliant. I bought the 75w amp a love it's versatility. I use the MK2 pedal and it works well. I will be purchasing the 150w for stage performance, because I'm not going back to half stack cabs for stages that are mic'd to the PA.

.I pulled my Amplifi out of the box, downloaded the app, synced it to my iPad and was playing phenomenal tones in under 5 minutes. The app instantly found 5 different tones for the very first song I selected from my library. (an a c / d c tune) I was amazed by the accuracy of the modeling and the richness and depth of tone. I was also blown away by how quickly you could switch to other equally impress sounds. One quick touch of the iPad screen and my guitar sounded like Ted, then Joe Bona, then some old 38 Spec. And it works just as well with my iPhone. I couldn't be happier.

.This is a practice amp, so if you're looking for something to gig with, look elsewhere.
As a practice amp, it's very good - tons of usable tone options, some of which are excellent, some are horrible, but you have a lot of choices. I find the distorted sounds to be better than the cleans. I have not been able to get a good Fender clean. There are also a ton of user-created sounds available through the app, many of which are excellent.
There are some excellent features, like the ability to play a song from your iTunes library and play guitar over it (you can also adjuster the level of music playback vs the level of the guitar), and the ability to edit from your iOS device is neat. It's also loud enough to play with a drummer/full band in a practice space. I applaud the inclusion of the headphone jack and so does my wife.
The negatives are what you'd expect: many of the amp simulations feel artificial, you can't mic up this amp for a performance due to the way it's designed - 5 speaker setup isn't mic friendly, the sound editor app can be clunky, and for those not technologically inclined navigating the app can be a daunting prospect. I have to say, after the initial annoyance with the app, I felt pretty comfortable with it after a couple of days.
This won't replace your Twin, AC30 or Marshall stack, but it's a good tool and doubles as a pretty high quality bluetooth audio player.
