Product Features

Line 6's Relay G30 redefines the wireless experience for guitarists and bassists with superior sound, professional dependability, and refreshing simplicity.

The Relay G30 Digital Wireless Mic System provides a pure signal so guitars get a beautiful high-end sparkle and basses get a thunderous low-end punch, even at distances of up to 30 meters (98 ft. approx). The signal's clarity rivals that of the highest-quality guitar cables. Traditional wireless systems compromise their sound by rolling-off crucial high- and low-end frequencies and compressing their signals. Relay G30 offers superior sound with full bandwidth and zero compression.

Professional Dependability
The Relay G30 broadcasts its robust signal over the 2.4GHz band. This keeps the signal free from many kinds of interference. For added security, the system employs exclusive signal protection technology: it broadcasts an encrypted data stream on six channels simultaneously. Traditional wireless instrument systems, on the other hand, are susceptible to dropouts, static, and many other kinds of interference. Broadcasting over congested UHF bands, their signals may be affected by interference generated as far away as 100 miles, or more.

Refreshing Simplicity
The lightweight transmitter of the Line 6 Relay G30 remains out of the way of your performance, and the rugged receiver can sit on top of your amp or be added to your pedal board. The receiver offers bright and easy-to-read LEDs that display power, status, and battery life. Its standard 1/4" inputs and outputs deliver real convenience.

The mic system comes complete with transmitter, receiver, and all necessary accessories including cable, power supply, and batteries.

Attached to Your Guitar Cable?
For players attached to cables, adopting a wireless system introduces many questions: What will it feel like? Will it change my sound? Relay G30 sounds just like a cable, but it also sounds just like your cable. It features two EQ settings that match the frequency responses of typical guitar cables. Different players use different cables, but all players can use Line 6 Relay G30.

The Wireless Mic Revolution
Relay G30 is proudly ushering in a better-sounding and more dependable era of wireless guitar systems. It will inspire you to explore new areas of your music and the stage.

Based on my experience I can't recommend this product at all. I wish I could have it replaced instead of having to keep getting it repaired. Even if it gets fixed, I can't trust it to keep working. It's really embarassing to have your equipment fail during a performance. The compact size and ease of use is great, but what good is that if it's not dependable and is always broken.
Easy to use except I have to use duct tape to tape keep it on my guitar strap. Also doesn't stay on my belt. Just doesn't clip on and stay on well. Great compact size and no antennas. I put the receiver with my pedal board. No difference in sound quality-just like your guitar is plugged into the amp.
It stopped working right in the middle of a song during a gig. Was only 6 months old. Luckily I bought the extended coverage. It took 6 weeks to get it back after the hassle and expense of going to the UPS store and sending it in. The first time I used it after getting it repaired, it stopped working right in the middle of a song at a gig again. So now I have to pay to have it shipped for repair again. The definition of quality is "fitness for use." Since it is not fit for use I have to give it a terrible quality rating.
This product has no value because it fails to work properly

.After several months of gig use, the clip broke off from the transmitter unit. when I attempted to fix it back on, the round plastic knob broke off too. really poor construction. disappointing.
The battery latch, like many have commented before, it's also poorly made.
The wireless transmission works like a dream. Great transparent sound, but if someone in the vicinity has turned on his bluetooth device, you will get intermittent coverage.

.this pack is very cheap plastic. i have gone through three packs all of them having multiple issues. the battery cover breaks super easy. i have had lots of drop outs when standing only 5 feet from receiver. the g50 is made a lot better however still have issues with drop outs and the guitar cable that goes from the pack to guitar has died 3 times really big pain.

. Sound is good and clear, which is the most important feature. Was not sure by any of the material that it was mounted on the belt. Componets work very well but unit itself does not look or feel sturdy.
Good features although I have not used them all or put it through complete paces.
Quality is good; although the door that holds the batteries doesn't close completely; and the cable jack that goes into my guitar is so tight it is very difficult to remove from my guitar.
Does the job I need it for.

.I am setting this as a 9 because it is made of plastic... from there, I have nothing but good things to say. I avoided wireless unit because of my compulsive tone disorder... neon light, radio frequency, and a rash of other things that would cause interference with other units was just one reason (the other being the drop off of guitar tone).
I notice the difference in guitar tone using the "Cable Select" switch but, I am able to hear things most people don't. Keeping the switch on the 15 ft. cable was perfect... TONE was not lost with my G&L Legacy (USA), My Gibson ES-339, ES-346, LP Standard that runs into my pedal board to my Traynor YCN-40. NO PROBLEMS WHAT SO EVER!!!! On my pedal board is a Boss LS1 Line Switch that I use to divert my signal to the PA System when I use my Taylor 812-CE with the same results.
If you want to move around without tripping over the cable attached to your guitar & are in a band where 6 Channels are enough to cover everyone. GET THIS UNIT.
OK... as mentioned in the numerous reviews I read before buying this unit, it is made of (heavy) plastic. After that fact it works as smooth as Line 6 says it does... easy to hook up to your rig & no interference. Just switch the transmitter & receiver to the same channel & you are good to go!
It will not last long if you are rough with your gear & if you are rough on your gear then, you are an idiot. I used this unit on 3 gigs since purchasing it & found no problems with it. Someone mentioned about having a "delay" in sound but, when you are 100 feet from the stage it does take a split second or two to return to you. This is known as "Speed of Sound"... it will not cause an issue in your playing ability if you have any sense of time.
With technology moving as quick as it does today, I could not stress just how impressed I am with this purchase.

.I may end up trying it one more time and cross my fingers that there was just a bad batch, since my older unit, while it feels flimsy as heck, has never given me a hiccup. The sound is great, and while I detect a touch a latency, the stats and other peoples opinions seem to contradict that, and I've made my peace with that onstage. I really can't complain about my older unit - so keep that in mind if you are reading this review. I've seen other reviews where people get Line 6 MIC lemons, and it just seems to be the price you pay for Line 6 products.
Great clarity. No drops. Sound is fine
Bought one 3 years ago, no problems. Needed another. Got 1st one, couldn't close battery cover without jujitsu and torn fingernails. Not an option onstage. Figured it was a lemon, exchanged it. Same EXACT problem.
For the money this should shine my shoes too. I don't care where it was made, the price is high enough it should be flawless.

. Over all it is a good unit. Would buy another if something happened to this one.
I have tried other guitar wireless systems with bad results. I had a Audio-Technia 700 and Shure SLX14. My main complaint was that the tone of the guitar was changed. The Audio-Technia was really bad, no bass response on the guitar, sounded tinney.
I play a Fender Telecaster with Texas Special pu and Gibson ES335.

I read good reviews on the line 6 Relay g30 and purchased one. Everything they said about it was true. It sounded like I was using a good guitar cord plugged directly into the amplifier,

It is small enough to mount on my peddel board.
Units seem to be contructed ok, only bad is the battery door comes open sometimes, I just put a rubber band around it.
I think it is a good value as it is better sound than the more expensive units.
Line 6 Relay G30 Digital Wireless Guitar System
.This thing rocks! It really (no kidding) delivers true cord quality sound both near and far from the base unit. It has excellent features that instantly let you know the quality of the signal, the battery in the transmitter etc. If there was anything I might suggest it would be to provide a battery power feature for the base unit. I sometimes use this with a battery powered amplifier. Since the base unit has to be plugged into 110V, you can't really use this unit in a situation that has no 110 volt power source. Not a big deal, though.

.Thumbs up to the folks at Line 6 for a great buy!
After years of working in music stores around the Midwest, and trying out the latest wireless over the years. I have found the final piece for my pedal board. This little unit has proven itself to have great tone, more range than a bar band needs, and a price tag that won't cost you 6 months of gigs to pay for it. I like the selector switch for different cable lenght's, very nice for guitar players that haven't worked with a wireless before and the tone junkies that hate the brightness that most wireless add to your sound. I would recommend this unit for anyone wanting to have some freedom from the cable. Double AA batteries included.
Wish the Transmitter was metal but for the money I can make it work. Found a cell phone case that works great on the strap to hold it in place.
Every musician dreams of big venues and a stage that is 100 feet wide. This unit gets you a little closer for less money than the Blues Brorthers bar tab.
Line 6 Relay G30 Digital Wireless Guitar System
.I really wanted this wireless unit, because a friend was having great success with his and I wanted to treat myself. Unfortunately, it only worked a couple of times and constantly would drop the sound. If I knew what the glitch was I would fix it. "My" unit is unreliable and for the price a waste of my money. Too bad, it`s a cool idea. Perhaps they need to go back to the drawing board to CREATE RELIABILITY...
