The Les Paul Quilt Top PRO uses EE-EE-Epiphone-e-e's 4-wire, nickel/silver base humbuckers with newly tooled, USA-style bobbins. In the neck position is EE-EE-Epiphone-e-e's chrome-covered ProBucker 2 with warm, thick vintage tone. It's uniquely paired with a chrome-covered ProBucker 3 humbucker, an inspired by version of Gibson's BurstBucker 3, that features unevenly wound coils and Alnico-II magnets that replicate that "Patent Applied for" airy tone. To top it all off, both volume controls feature push/pull potentiometers allowing you to coil-split each pickup for single-coil sounds. Combined with the 3-way toggle, you get 6 unique sounds from one great Les Paul guitar.

.BACKGROUND:
I've been a guitarist for over 30yrs, been in numerous metal & rock bands, recorded professionally, forming another band, and have owned & played just about every expensive guitar out there since the early 80's.
I wanted a new LP style guitar, because I wanted something with a shorter scale length, I need that LP tone for the new band, yet, didn't WANT to spend $2500 for a new guitar.
On the other hand, I sort of had some doubts about getting an EE-Epiphone-e brand. But, due to many reviews, playing some Epi's, and a few friends' suggestions, I decided to give this new model a shot. And, I can honestly say that this guitar rocks. And, I mean it. Current amp rig: Laney GH50L 50w all tube head, Marshall 1960A 4x12 cab.....(numerous pedals, but not used for this review) Didn't use any distortion pedals either, just used a good ol' fashioned high gain amp, cranked!
Upon cranking the amp, I was seriously impressed with the massive sustain on chords, pick attack response, and overall "growl" and tone. And let me just add, (for the record) the pickups do NOT need to be swapped out, unless you want to, but, not needed. This guitar is equipped with a set of really good quality pair of Pro-Buckers, that offer a very true LP tone. Coil tap capability (Both pup's), a beautiful quilt top, thin neck, quality fit & finish, good construction, Grover Tuners, decent quality pots that are very responsive, and, overall, just a real surprise of a guitar.
RIGHT OUT OF THE BOX:
From the minute I opened the box, the only thing I had to do was lower the action a tad, (because I prefer lower action). Streched the strings once again (should be done anyway), re-tuned, and got to playin'. After about 2 hours of some seriously hard playing, and getting used to playing it, I knew this was a darn good find, and a keeper. No fret buzz, no quirky electronic issues, no neck issues, did not need a truss rod adjustment, etc.....nothing but a quick adjustment of string height, some hard playing, and a big smile on my face afterwards! And NO, I don't work for EE-Epiphone-e. (Your Mileage May Vary) I'm just a very happy customer, and very pleased (and surprised) with this guitar.
I started out jamming some Zeppelin, Aerosmith, Nugent, Chicago, AC-DC, Tull, Ramones, Candlebox, (as well as my own songs) It handled everything I tossed at it, and had tone to handle those styles.
I did not have any tuning issues, I did not have to add any graphite to the nut, was totally playable right out of the box. I am also impressed with the overall fretwork. No sharp edges, etc etc...and the binding is done very well!
Seriously...Don't be afraid to consider one of these guitars, just because it's an EE-Epiphone-e. My opinion (for what it's worth) It's a real hidden gem, a darn good find, a good product, and seriously worth the money.
For the record, I was considering another brand of LP style guitar that cost 3 times the price, but, figured I could always send this one back to MF, if it wasn't up to par. But, didn't have to....I'm def keeping this.
This guitar will join the ranks of my Custom Shop Carvin, American Deluxe Strat, Brian Moore, two Ovations, and a Takamine Keystone acoustic....And I'm not embarrased in the slightest! This guitar has the goods to deliver any music style or genre, whether it's rock, jazz, metal, blues...it can handle it.
FINAL THOUGHTS:
Is this a true Gibby LP? No. It's made in China....But, let's face it, most guitars are made overseas, and nobody complains about them....this is no different.
Now, keep in mind, there is a slight chance you may have to have it set up professionally, out of the box. Just the nature of buying a guiar thru the mail....I did not have to, but, I do all my own work anyway, so, no biggie.
If I was asked to rate this guitar, on a scale of 1-10, I gotta give this guitar a solid 7 simply because it's not a USA made guitar, and may or may not need some work, when you get it.. Other than that, it rocks.
So, even though it's not a $3000 - $5000 original USA Gibson Les Paul, it truly is a darn good work-horse of a guitar, that offers really good tone, nice to play, good feel, and with a tiny bit of tweaking (only if needed or wanted) is a serious guitar that has what it takes.
EE-Epiphone-e really did a nice job with this guitar. So, whether you're on a budget, new player, or pro musician, I feel this guitar is certainly worth the money, and worth considering.

.I simply want to write, "Best Guitar Ever In History," but I can't write that without thinking about hurting the feelings of those who might not have this guitar yet. The guitar has great pick ups. There is no need to compare this guitar to a Gibson Les Paul. Different sounds, different generations, different worlds, and so on.
Whether I play this guitar through my practice amp or through my cabinet, EE-Epiphone-e's bright sounds come through beyond my expectations. For those of you who are into distortion, well, the guitar can meet those needs and then some. Should you be into shredding and that sort of thing, I can only suggest that you put some lighter strings on it than I have on mine. I really can't say whether or not it is great for that. However, for those who like guitarists such as Izzy Stradlin or Andy McCoy or Chrissie Hynde or Tomoyasu Hotei and would like to hear a different take on that sound, this EE-Epiphone-e guitar delivers that experience.
Having played a lot of guitars and basses over the last thirty years, it was a surprise that this guitar would be the one that made me want to sit down and think through why it is that I enjoy playing and recording with it. The guitar has a familiarity about it, but it is not any attempt of mine to sound like somebody playing in 1976. This guitar may not stand the test of time like others do. Still, the reason to buy a guitar to my way of thinking is to play now, right now, so please do so regardless of which guitar you own at the moment. You can always pick up Limited Edition Les Paul Quilt Top Pro Electric Guitar tomorrow or the day after that. Respect the rock!

.Fit, finish, frets, neck are all excellent. I've been over this guitar several times and can't find a flaw. The only complaint is the set up from the factory was poor. The bridge was cocked over about 30 degrees and after adjusting that to proper string height, it plays beautifully. I love the coil taps - you really get two guitars sound-wise. This is my second EE-Epiphone-e (I have owned a Casino for years) and you can't find better guitars for the money. Period.

.Mine is a few years old now, so I've had time to let the honeymoon settle and for the guitar and myself to discover all the things we don't like about each other. At the time I purchased this guitar, it was hands-down the best sounding guitar I had ever owned. The electronics are solid and for recording, it blew my other guitars away. However, it has some things that I really don't like also. The neck is very thick, the body is very heavy, and in a sitting position, Les Paul's are just uncomfortable to me. Also the tuners feel pretty cheap, and unplugged, this guitar sounds like cardboard.
Now don't get me wrong, this guitar has many pluses as well... the translucent finish is BEAUTIFUL. As I said before, the overall tone is great, even through a practice amp. And since I'm a bit of a collector, it just feels right to have at least one of these in rotation (I'm not paying Gibson prices for a guitar style I'm not too crazy about, so this is as close as it gets). I'm a Fender guy, but if you really want to have a Les Paul, these things are overall pretty great and priced fairly.

.I just got this guitar today and upon a very stringent examination I can't find anything that I can complain about. I have owned a variety of electric guitars over the last forty years, including several Gibsons. And i've got to say that this guitar is every bit as good as any other instrument I have ever owned. Now I haven't plugged it in yet, but from all the reviews that I have read I don't think I will be disappointed as good as it sounds unplugged. The set-up right out of the box was right on the money, not to say that I won't tweak it in a little after I break it in. But the gist of this review is that this guitar is worth every penny that I plunked down for it.

.This LP has the prettiest top I have held in my hands. I had two open box specials of the same model before deciding to go with an unblemished one. The first had a 1 1/2" visible crack near the headstock - I couldn't tell if it was just through the finish or into the mahogany but it made me nervous enough to return it (for another blem, LOL). The second one went right back into the box when I opened it - it had been dropped (probably in the factory, the boxes were undamaged) and had a bad set of cracks and chipped poly finish on the bottom edge of the top. I returned it for an unblemished one, and it's a keeper - great setup, sound and playability (as it was with the first one). It sounds like a Les Paul should - lots of bark and/or bite depending on the pickup settings, volume & tone control settings. The coil-tapped settings were very good - not exactly a strat or tele but something in between and quite useful - sort of like a more polite P-90 sound. I have played many guitars with a coil tap setting that sounded weak and thin but this setting will be used often. The finish is fairly heavy poly (what do you want for this price?) but well done, I can find no flaws with the finish,underlying stain,binding or hardware. It sports a fairly subtle cherry sunburst that allows the quilt to shine through. This is not the cheapest LP you can buy but there's nothing to regret either - know many folks suggest upgrading the pickups and pots (as with any mid-grade electric) but they are perfectly good - they have lots of character and can roar or chime depending on the settings. The only thing I am considering replacing is the "top hat" knobs - they work fine and look good but feel a little cheap and can be difficult to activate the pulled-up coil cut setting if your fingers are too slippery or too dry. As always, Custom Guitar's Friend was great through the whole process, you really get the idea they want you to be happy with your purchase.

.I purchased this guitar because I already own (2) EE-Epiphone-e Les Paul Standard Electric Guitars. (1 cherry sunburst and 1 gold top model, both up graded) I also own a Gibson Les Paul Classic Electric Guitar. The Factory EE-Epiphone-e Guitar is a great all a round product for a beginner, and or an immediate player. For a professional, (my opinion) it lacks the extra spice in tonal quality, and pickups performance it 's big brother, the Gibson Les Paul.
I resolved this issue by replacing the factory Burstbucker pickups with a Gibson 500T Ceramic Magnet Humbucker (15.32k ohms) on the bridge position and an EE-Epiphone-e 685T Alnico IV Humbucker (11.45k ohms) on the neck position.
I also replaced the factory pots, switch, & caps with professional CTS 500k pots and added (2) .022uf Sprague Orange Drop Caps. A little neck bow adjustment to .005" and the string action set to 3/32" and 2/32", (no string buzz) and a Switchcraft 3- way Toggle Switch.
What a positive difference it made, the difference between a corvette and a volkswagon bug in performance.
This inexpensive Limited Edition EE-Epiphone-e Les Paul PRO Electric Guitar in now in a class with my more expensive Gibson Les Paul Classic Electric guitar. Now.it sounds as good as my other (2) UP GRADED EE-Epiphone-e Les Pauls Standard Electric Guitars.
Oh, don't forget, EE-Epiphone-e Products are manufactured and owned by Gibson USA !

Looking to get back into a Les Paul, I sat down played several Les Pauls (including Gibsons) at my local guitar retailer and this one sounded so much better than any of the other ones. The tone this thing puts out is unsurpassed for the money. The neck was a little out of whack from the factory, but after a set up, it's just perfect.
