I bought this switch to turn my delay on and off. It work fantastic for a year and a half, then the cheap micro switch inside fell apart. Its a shame as otherwise this thing is sturdy and built like a tank......Boss FS-5L Latching Footswitch
.The footswich has been 100% reliable. It is silent and the battery life is very long lasting. The only negative is that it doesn't take a DC Charger. But it really doesn't need one when it is has as little draw on the battery as it does...My only other beef is that is could be larger. Prior to installing some velcro it would have a tendency to tip if you weren't right on top of it..otherwise I highly recommend this pedal for it's reliability and cost.

.Using this pedal on the stage or just in your home can really sound good. When you hit the FS-SL Footswitch it kicks in more sound and brings the lead guitar out more. I use this pedal to bring out more when another guitar is playing along and when I want to go into a solo or something like that. So this pedal is really great. I recommend this to you.

.I like the switch and I was originally concerned that batteries were required for the switch function, but they are not. I find the need for batteries just for the LED function a bit excessive. However given the option to switch the active mode from Normally Open or Normally Closed contact switching for the device you are controlling a need tied to the LED operation. Multiple units can be ganged together by the gendered side slots.

.i got this item so i don't have to walk back to my drum machine in-between songs to start the next one (well, i still have to select the next song, but oh well). i run this through a BOSS DR-5 drum machine & i'm sure it works with any other BOSS beat box with a 1/4 foot switch input. i also wish that it had a jack for an AC adapter - i don't like the fact that it can die at any moment while i am on stage, but what can you do?

.The Boss footswitch seems well built, perfect size, does what it is supposed to do. It does require batteries if you want the led to light. If you do not care about the led light... use it without batteries.
It works for me.
