Body: Maple
Neck: Maple neck with a medium "c" profile, 1 5/8" wide nut, rosewood fretboard, 10" radius, and block inlays
Pickups/Hardware: Grover tuners, Bigsby Vibrato, two humbuckers (rated at 9.6 kOhms in the neck and 10.3 k in the bridge), three-way pickup selector switch, one volume and three tone controls
Cosmetic Condition: This 1956 Chet Atkins Hollowbody is one tremendous axe! The body is in good shape, sporting its age and finish handsomely. This guitar has aged very well, accruing checking lines and small play marks in all of the right places. The heel cap is missing from the neck. The neck has a lot of playwear that has worn through the orange finish in many places. The headstock has some light edgewear but looks great. This hollowbody is excellent!
Playability: The guitar plays well with medium/low action. The frets are small and have play wear. The guitar would benefit from a refret for optimum playability.
Modifications/Repairs: The tuners and nut have been replaced. There is a metal plate added to the side to reinforce the output jack. The bridge thumb wheels have been replaced. The heel cap is missing. The pickguard has been replaced.
