Up for auction is this stunningly beautiful 1972 Fender Mustang in original Lake Placid Blue. The finish has aged to that sought after greened out look that we vintage Fender fans crave! This guitar has no issues and plays and sounds fantastic.
This guitar has some changed parts, but is original where it counts. Changed parts include: bridge pickup, serial plate, pickguard, strap buttons, one switch and possibly the bridge. Everything else appears to be original. Both pots date to the 46th week of 1972. The neck heel was factory stamped, but the ink has rubbed off and is slightly visible especially on the far right side. Dowel marks are present on the body and the paint stick is present in the neck cavity confirming the originality of the finish and body.
The electronics function properly with no issues and the guitar sounds great. The playability is excellent with low action and the truss rod works properly. The frets are low but play great with no dead spots. The neck has a slim and fast profile that is killer. This guitar is lightweight at 6 lbs, 14 oz.
Don't miss out on this amazing, greened out vintage Mustang!
