The aged tremolo arm tip is very functional and looks nice. Non-threaded tips are always hard to replace. I put the tremolo arm in a vice with folded leather round it for protection. Then use my wife's hair dryer to heat the old tip to remove it. I then heat the arm and new tip to install it. The process still takes some serious pulling and pushing! .Do whatever to get an old/chipped tip off. For arms with splines: Then take a hair dryer to one of these new ones till its hot. Then it'll slip right on with some force. Wrap in soft cloth if you need to get pliers around to help. But if it's hot/soft enough, it should go on just with downforce.

.Recently acquired a Peavey Predator that was in a storage wear house since 1991 & was never sold new. I wante to age it up a bit so I changed out the pickups to fender strats with aged white covers, added an aged white pearloid pick guard with aged white knobs & pickup selector switch knob. This trem arm end was an added touch but I didn't like being forced to buy two in a pack just to get one.

My J Mascis Jazzmaster Tremolo arm so so long that it was not functional for me. So I cut off two inches and put an extra bend in it. I used a hair dryer to remove and replace the tips. The tips are not threaded and look and function great.See attached photo ----------

.I bought a Fender limited edition (FSR) Stratocaster in November (New), that I will continue to baby. At my first gig with it, the bar fell on the ground as I was removing it. The metal was fine, but It chipped parts of the plastic on the tip. This brought back my strat back to perfect condition and matched the color of my pickups covers, knobs, and pick up selector switch!
