They are always missing on older basses. Give it back its original look by replacing the cover. Chrome.

I don't understand why bassplayers removed the covers from the pickups and bridges of their P-Basses. The brassy vintage look definitely beat the stripped down look. I have both bridge covers pick up covers installed on my Squire Affinity P-Bass and my Epiphone Accu Bass Jr.(which is a knock-off of the Precision Bass).I won't give 5 Star ratings to decorative items or accessories such as volume knobs and pick guards, but I will very strongly advise any bassist who wants to add style to his Fender/Squire basses along with the knock-offs made by competitors.Fender P Bass Bridge Cover Chrome

.These are an awesome addition to a P bass. It gives it a nice vintage look.
To the people wining about the screws; These covers use standard pickguard screws. Don't waste your time going to a hardware store and add some to your cart before checking out.

.Not much to say - its a dead on perfect match for a '62 P-bass reissue or any other Fender P-bass that you want to dress up. Does require use with the smaller vintage style bridge so it fits over it. This cover will also work great for a Gene Simmons Punisher or Axe bass.

.All in all, I am very happy with my covers and the "new" look.
I recently purchased both the P-bass bridge and pickup covers for my Telecaster P-Bass - the modern (not MIA) re-issue with humbuckers. I was seeking some of the retro look of my 60's P-bass (which I wish I still had). The covers were easy to install once I obtained the proper screws (these covers do not come with screws - guess they assume you have the originals or something). They really give my modern tele bass a cool look and still allow acess to the strings for finger style or pick attack. I don't know about slap - I don't think I'd recommend for that style. The only other drawback is that the bridge cover must be removed for string replacement or bridge adjustments - not a show stopper, but something to consider.
Quality was good although I think these were thicker, heavier chromed components in the 60's.
Great look for the money.
