When I ordered this we,including customer service representative, tried to determine if this 3-ply pickguard was entirely black and believe this to be so. However the middle ply was white. I wanted an entirely black one so I do not have the look I really wanted for my new Telecaster.

.If you want a good black pickguard for an 8-hole Tele, this is it. Just remember to remove the film from it.
This is your basic 3-ply, black/white/black, 8-hole Telecaster pickguard. It does not include screws (which presumably will already be in your guitar). It's easy to install with just one small phillips screwdriver, though you might have to loosen your switchplate to get the pickguard seated properly.
It's fine, but realize that when it's new there's a protective film over the pickguard that makes it look like it was run over with a golf cart. Remove the film and it's fine. Don't be a ding-a-ling like I was and send it back because it looked used. (In my defense, the MF customer service person didn't say anything about a protective film, she just said to return it. I figured out the film part later.)
It's a pickguard. Nothing special to it.

.Is doesn't say in the description, but this is the 3-ply standard pickguard for fender telecasters. i put this on my sunburst tele, replacing my old white pickguard. it looks like a whole new guitar.

.I took a chance buying this product, for I didn't not know if it would fit my Mexican Telecaster or not. I have a natural ash Tele that used to have a white pickguard. I thought that the white pickguard looked cheap and I wanted my guitar to look sharper so, obviously, I purchased this pickguard. It only took me 5 minutes to take off the strings, take off the old pickguard, and install the new one. It was the best decision that I have made for my Tele!!

.I bought the black 8 hole Standard Tele pickguard to change the look of my MIM second-hand acquisition. This screwed right on, fitting the body, neck joint, neck pickup, and control panel like a glove. Just peel the protective coating and go. It's got the three-ply black/white/black parchment and is a welcome upgrade.

Got this for a new MiM tele just to change the look. The fit was perfect. Shipping was super fast as well.

.I replaced the white pick guard on my late 80's Candy Apple Red Telecaster with this black one and it really transformed the look for the better. The old white one was yellowed with age, and the black has a much more purposeful look. Fit was perfect, although worth checking out the Youtube videos to figure out the neck pickup connection. Do yourself a favor and hold off until you're ready to change the strings, as they really need to come off to fit. Based on some net wisdom, I would also recommend lightly sanding the back or using a dryer sheet. I did neither, but there was some noticeable buzzing from static when rubbing fingers over it at first, although that went away after about a week

.I bought this genuine Fender pick guard because I didn't want to deal with aftermarket ones not fitting my 1984 Fender Tele correctly. I figured the extra cost would be good insurance for higher quality and a precise fit.

Nope.

The screw holes are in the right place, but the routing for the neck pocket is not. Rather than take the time to send it back and try again, I decided to break out my Dremel and fix it myself, but I'm sorely disappointed that an actual Fender product does not fit the Fender guitar it's intended for.
