I have played bass for 38 years and played professional and recorded professional. Let me do my review of the Fender road worn P-bass. First is excellent quality, yes MIM but up there with the American Made. These are not mass produced basses- I would call them "batch produced". I love the look - looks just like a 50 year old '57 P-Bass - scars and all. Second - the split P-bass Fender pickup is aged to match - I really like the tone and sound from this bass - I don't see the need to change the pickup. If you are not getting enough low end then time to change your amp. The big main reason to buy this bass is the neck - it duplicates the neck on a '57 P-Bass and is so smooooth - its like a well broken in baseball mitt. I known guys who bought this bass just to get the neck. This bass is probally the best bass for the buck Fender sells. This will be the one you reach for time and time again -- you will see.
