This 5 way works grate I have put it in 2 fender pickguards and they work good sound smooth, not scratchy, clean, I don?t know if this is what they put in all Fender guitars but I don?t see what they could do different? Overall this thing works and its at a good price?. .This was a really good upgrade for a Squier Strat or any other strat. Converting the wiring from the old switch to this was pretty easy. Only problem I ran into was trying to solder a ground wire to the casing of this, since there is not a specific piece to ground to. Grounding may not be necessary on this if it is touching shielding, but I preferred adding the ground wire. Always be careful when working with electrical components of your guitars!
