I got this pickguard for my dad. He had the regular white guard on his sunburst strat. Makes the guitar stand out a lot more. Although he doesn't gig anymore he likes to collect guitars and this just adds that little extra flair.Fender American Standard Strat 11 Hole Pickguard Shell
.Bought this beauty to spice up an oldish strat I bought from my church. My strat is vintage white/cream colored so the shell color is a nice off-set to it. The shell is definitely more brown than it looks in the picture (which I thought looked sort of red), which I think is a good thing. It also has much more foil shielding on the back than the original factory pickguard, which is a nice plus. Easy to install, took less than a half hour...I spent more time putting new strings back on and intonating it. I highly recommend this item.

.I recently purchased an olympic white US Standard strat that came with a white pickguard. I was thrilled to see this available for what I expected to pay for a shell pickguard blank, plus the screw holes matched perfectly with no drilling or filing needed (yay!) Shipping was quicker that I expected too. It was not as swirly as pictured put it looked so good I didn't want to mess with the exchange. Overall, I'm really happy with purchase and it looks great on my new toy.

In my opinion, the shell pickguard is the perfect way to set off a three tone sunburst finish. I got a sunburst Strat with a white pickguard that had been in the shop for a couple years and the pickguard had yellowed. This would have been fine except the showroom stickers were still on the plastic wrapping on the pickguard, so the yellowing was uneven. I bought one of these shell(it's really just plastic/celluloid)pickguards, put it on and absolutely fell in love with the look.
