Not too long ago I played the American Std. 5 string Jazz. I sold it since I didn't have the need for a 5 string. I just got a hired gun gig and had pick another one up for the arrangements. I didn't want the expense of another American Std since I will not use the 5 on all songs. so I went the Fender Std. option. Quite frankly I wasn't expecting much in a MIM instrument. Was I ever wrong! Hence, I found the guitar worthy. There is nothing wrong with this guitar I received at all-nothing! Sure the American has upgraded hardware and pick-ups. .I got sick of active electronics. This bass has classic Fender passive Jass pickups with great tone. No 9 volt batteries. No hiss in the studio. Just classic Fender tone.
