I ordered the maple fingerboard and it is absolutely beautiful. Gorgeous tinted gloss finish on the fingerboard and face of the headstock with satin finish on the back of the neck.

Out of the box it is dead straight and the (Polished) frets are perfectly level.

Fit perfectly on my "Starcaster, by Fender" jazz bass body.

I couldn't be happier My Bass is absolutely beautiful with this neck. Sustain and clarity were also greatly enhanced. This neck and a set of Seymour Duncans was the best money I've spent in a while. Transformed my "Beginner bass" into one that looks as good as it sounds.

I was kind of worried I might get a neck that has sit around in a warehouse for a few years but fear not it was a brand new 2014 neck.

If you want to greatly improve the looks, clarity, sustain (and value, possibly?) of your squier bass this is the ticket.

.This product does not included tuners and good luck finding them. The 2016 MIM jazz bass neck's tuner holes are slightly larger than the bushings for the tuners. I called fender directly to get the exact/correct part number (0036400049) that I needed. Custom Guitar's Friend doesn't sell the correct tuners for this product, they only sell the "Pure Vintage '70s Bass Tuning Machines". The "correct" tuner's are the Highway One / Standard Tuners. The bushings for both the "Highway One / Standard" and the "Pure Vintage '70s Bass Tuning Machines" are too small for the tuner holes and fall right off. I've bought MIM necks before and never had this issue. Custom Guitar's Friend will not accept returns on necks after they have been mounted or tuners have been installed. Make sure your tuner bushings fit before you do anything to the neck or you will be stuck with it.

.Jazz neck was ordered to replace fretless neck on a Squire. The neck did not fit as snugly into the body as I expected but the holes matched up perfectly. Only two of the four holes in each tuning key matched making it necessary to drill two new holes per key. Not a problem. Intonation did not need adjusting. I'm happy with this purchase.

.I have this exact neck on another bass, and bought this one for another I'm building. The one I already had was great quality. However, the nut on this one is cut really shallow. It's at least .035 shallower than the other identical neck I have. I'm going to have to cut it some more. I docked it a star for this. I don't know why they did that at the factory. But, unless you have done this before, this will send you seeking a good tech to cut it for you. Otherwise, everything else about it appears to be perfect so far. Oh, and these necks take the Fender "highway one" type tuning machines. I recommend this neck, but with reservations about the nut.

These necks are a great bargain. Definitely as nice as a warmoth neck but lower cost as they already have finish on them, the tuner holes are drilled and there is a nut mounted on the neck. I recommend these necks as I don't see much difference between these and the American standard.

.Headstock cracked along a woodgrain line when I installed the ferrule. MF and Fender said Sorry for your luck. Very dissatisfied

.I owned a 2006 MIM Fender Jazz Bass Standard, with a rosewood fretboard. I never cared much for either the feel or the sound of the stock bass. I began by changing out the pickups for Bassline quarter pounders. That opened the sound significantly, but I still did not particularly enjoy playing the instrument. I ordered the maple fretboard version of this neck to replace the original. I did not personally replace the neck, I hired a professional...a really good one. (Quick Tech Note: I have seen reviews in which hardware has not matched up. The original neck hardware on my 2006 MIM standard j-bass matched exactly) I am not overstating the case by saying that this neck has completely changed the feel and the sound of my j-bass. The sound has changed from muddy to wide open, and it is now an absolute pleasure to play. It is now my primary "go-to" bass guitar. Best investment I have made in a long time.
