i love this amp... only thing i dont like is that there are about 9 screws you have to remove to get to the back off to get to the tubes........on the plus side, the fuse is very easy to get to , once the back is open....beware, it might need a fan placed in back of the amp to cool power tubes, if you leave it on for long periods....'(like more than an hour)
its got the GREAT FENDER SOUND..forget the blues junior....this is the ticket.....great fender punch..great tone......lots of volume..and so easy to carry...!.....contrary to the other posts, the amp is NOT NOISY..it sounds great and is gig ready right out of the box..i used mine that way...put a boss fender reverb pedal and a good overdrive into it and you are good to go..!..this amp sounds like a 4/10 bassman in a can..!
well made...!..solid..
the parts are good....the stock sovtek el84's are good tubes for this amp.......you want bright sounding el-84's for this amp, and they are......EH el-84 tubes make this amp very dark sounding..if you have the budget there are several other brand el84's to choose from that could improve it even more........the stock power tubes are real good for this amp.......the preamp tubes, i changed ...
V1 (the first tube on right as looking from the back) to a NOS Sylvania 12AT7(which has 60 percent of the gain of the 12ax7).....and V2 to a
Tung-sol reissue 12ax7 ....great great improvement in tone and lowered floor noise even more...
i also had a spare eminence Rajun Cajun 10 inch 8 ohm speaker...i replaced the stock speaker with it....man, with the new preamp tubes and the new speaker this amp is up to boutique amp level....for a small cost....it rocks....!!!....the
RC speaker kicks out way more volume and lots more bass and has a pleasing tamed hi end...its sounds vintage but with way more gusto.......the new preamp tubes i used are not expensive..this amp now kills a tweed deluxe ....kills it..!....you can keep em,.,!.....this is fender's best amp in a LONG TIME..its small...light,,inexpensive...and man it sounds so good..!...so loud too...!.....2 of them together would be an incredible rig..!..i dont see any need to buy any of those hyped up mods for this amp....sorry Bill or whoever you are.....

.I tested a new one at a local shop. It sounded fine. I purchased it from the shop. Brought it home, plugged it in and a loud 60Hz buzz came through the speaker. Apparently, the flat three mile ride in the back seat of my car from the shop to my home was too much for the amp to handle. The amp is now sitting in the shop waiting its turn to be repaired. Looking at other reviews, it appears that the failure rate of these Pro Junior's as they come out of the factory is about 20%. If I'd known that Fender was having quality control problems with these Mexico models I'd never would've considered it. I like to spend time playing my gear, not fixing it or paying someone else to fix it. I would advise local dealers to stay away from this model unless they think disappointing customers is a good business strategy. At this point I have buyer remorse.

.I bought this used. It sounds good and works with pedals well. Simple little tube amp. Nice....but the plastic input jack threads stripped out and since its soldiered directly to the circuit board, plugging and unplugging the cord could cause major damage. The design of the circuit board makes it nearly impossible to install a new input. So the cost of having it done by a certified electrician costs more than the amp is worth. Come on Fender. An input jack is kinda important. Do you really need to use brittle plastic? I believe the term is called "built-in obsolescence."

.I've used more amps than most will in a life time. I've got 45 yrs of playing under my belt and felt I needed to write this review. I wanted a small amp to practice with, but I ended up playing a gig the next day with this little tone machine. I'm a lead player and the sound might not be for clean players. I can mic this amp thru the PA and sound like a Marshall plexi. Slide guitar sounds great and harps sound great.

.Good for the price, but ultimately a disappointment for me.

The Good:
*Nice Fender Clean Sound
*Nice Clean with Hair with the amp turned up *halfway - good classic 60's rock sound.
*good value for the money. This is why I give it a 4 instead of a 3.

The Not So Good:
*Becomes useless to me when really cranked - Distortion lacks character and becomes "fizzy".
*Harsh sounding high end (I'm a tweed kind of guy)I have tried several speakers and other tubes. This helps but doesn't solve these deficiencies.

.I continue to be impressed with this amp. Another gig last night playing Everything from Beatles to Bad Company to Stones to Skynyrd with a Fat Strat and it kicks butt. Those mids that sound overpowering at home are perfect for a live band situation. Add a compressor, and a Blues Driver and a little delay for some songs and you are there. You dont need reverb!
This amp gives you a fat sound that is still bright enough and has plenty of low end. Leave it on the floor and dont tilt it, its fine as is.

I got this little tube amp for Christmas. It buzzed, popped, and sizzelled from the moment it warmed up...even without an instrument cable plugged in...and at all volume and tone settings. It only got worse when I played a guitar thru it. Sent it back to MF and they sent me another...same story. I have a Hot Rod Deluxe III and it is a great amp in every way. I thought the Pro Junior would be a smaller, lighter version. Boy was I wrong. I have a bunch of other Fender products and they all work and sound great. I sent the second one back and am waiting for my G-dec 30 to come in now. Still a Fender fan though. Thanks so much to Custom Guitar's Friend for standing behind their warranty.
Simple two knob operation.
A lot of un-wanted noise.
If you could cut thru all the unwanted noise it would have a great tone. Really loud for its size, even though it is a tube amp. The simplicity of operation is good too.

.I like this amp. It has a good sound, and adequate headroom for its size. What you see is what you get. I have several tube amps, but this one is great for practice at home. Also, its size and weight make it great for transport to play at a small jam session. No hernias here! I use a Boss "Fender Reverb Tank" pedal, and get a good tone with both my Telecaster and Stratocaster. There are not too many combo amps in this size/power category. I had a 22 watt Bugera, but it was too heavy for what I wanted. A few more watts on this amp would be nice, and maybe a 12" speaker, but then it would be bigger and heavier. It is what it is, and no buttons to push...
There are no features with this amp, but that's why I bought it. I had a Blues Jr, and I hated the "fat switch". It could use a reverb, but it is a nice, simple amp. Nothing to adversely affect the signal.
I bought it used, and I have had no problems with it, other than the buzzing mentioned by other reviewers. I will probably change out the tubes, but for now, I just use it.
I think it is slightly overpriced for a foreign-made 15 watt amp with no reverb. But then again, all Fender amps are pricey. It probably will hold value just because of the name.

.I used to play just acoustics until 3 years ago and have found the tone I like in the Pro Junior. and it's loud, not really a living room amp. It has volume and tone knobs and no master volume. No line out reverb or channel switching. Not having all that fluff lets you take charge of your tone. I don't use pedals but if you desire you could have a whole palet of signal prosessers in the chain to add the the great tone of this little guy. Oh yeah, the PJ is super light and small making it easier to use here or there. I hear that some guys swap the tubes and speaker to get a little different tone and reaction. After a year I still am using the stock speaker and tubes and it does just what I expect it to do. I guess I will change them when they ware out but will replace them with the stock stuff. This amp works well for me.
This is a one trick pony meaning it only sounds like a Pro Jr which is KILLER. I don't know what is not to like.
For a mass produced amp I'll give it an A for build quality. I have been using it for a year and haven't given any special treatment and it has held better than my other amps.
For a 15 watt tube amp that sounds this good the price is low in my opinion. I had a Marshall Haze half stack that died early and I bought the PJ as a temporary replacement. It has become the permanent replacement. In fact I'm getting a PJ III to run in tandem. Not a Vox or Marshall or a 6V6 Fender but another PJ. It does just what I want it to do. I love this thing.

.Bought this little amp used at the HOG. Modified in some way but they didn't know what was done to it. It is pretty darn quiet I'll say that right off. Not alot of static or back ground noise. Been looking for a small tube tone since I got rid of my VOX AC151C.

So picked this up for cheap. This I do belive is an earlier version and USA made. Without a doubt the finest sounding, easiest to use tone machine I've ever had. And that is saying something since I own an old BC60 and an older Pathfinder s.s. amps both. Both of the aforementioned amps are absolutley stellar performers too.

But the tube tone of this little Jr is something to experience. I can not believe how loud and room filling the sound is. Had it in our living room which is pretty large and it just blooms in there. Moved it to my family room/music room which is about half the size but it still sounds full, rich, and just plain GOOD. Playing it with a strat and an AXL LP jr(modified the electrics in it) copy and rolling off the tone and turning the vol of the guitar up and having the tone and vol of the amp on about 4 it just has that wonderful thick tone break up that it seems you can only get from tubes.(BC60 comes very very close, really close) The Jr,s tone is kind of like Tom Waits on steroids if you can beleive that analogy.

Just ordered a BOSS FDR for it. That is all it needs is a decent reverb for it. Don't know if you could somehow connect a tank to it but probably you could with a lot of effort so the FDR is the way to go. I can not believe the 10" spearker drivers sounds like it does. Can't give this amp enough kudo's. thanks
