Product Features

U.S.-designed Paramount Series acoustic instruments are finely crafted and specially voiced to bring your artistic vision to life. Each all-solid guitar offers many legacy design elements of classic ’60s models, including special checkerboard binding and rosettes, unique pickguard shape, and abalone and mother-of-pearl "Concert Tone" fretboard inlays. And even with this art deco look, Paramount instruments still retain their footing in modern design. All-new Fender- and Fishman-designed PM preamp systems are equipped with specially voiced for each body shape in the series, ensuring complete tonal control and variation.

Available in an elegant natural finish, the Paramount Deluxe Parlor features not only thoughtful vintage appointments, but also the craftsmanship of a truly high-performing instrument. Crafted from premium all-solid tone woods such as upgraded East Indian rosewood back and sides and Sitka spruce top and equipped with quartersawn scalloped "X" bracing, the Deluxe parlor is designed with freely vibrating, resonant tone in mind. It also features a fast-playing "C"-shaped mahogany neck with ebony fingerboard, both of which are designed to accommodate the most demanding playing styles.

Includes hardshell case.

Since no one in our area had a Fender Paramount to try, we took a chance and ordered one from Custom Guitars Friend. Our lead guitarist plays several solid body electrics & wanted a small body acoustic electric to take on gigs as a change of pace. He also does solo acts & open mic's so the guitar had to sound good acoustically as well as plugged in. He saw the Fender Paramount in a cataloge and fell in love with the looks of it. The guitar arrived from MF in excellent condition and was gig ready out of the box. This guitar is not only a beauty, ,,,,it plays and sounds wonderful. The guitar has Fishman on board, easy to get at electronics, with a very nice accurate tuner, all wood, and the appointments are fit & finish. The neck has a nice feel and is like butter to play. Comes with a very nice hardshell case to protect this beauty. He's gigged out with it several times already with the band and solo and he couldn't be happier. ....As he stated "this guitar is a keeper".

.Let's be honest. Fender is not known for their acoustic guitars, although in fairness they make a lot of lower priced models that are fine for the money. I am a huge fan of small parlor size and non-cutaway 12-fret guitars. I mean, who really knows what those high frets are for anyway? But seriously, when I saw this model I was intrigued. Sure it is made offshore, but i no longer see that as an automatic downside, as there are extremely well-made instruments coming from the Asia-Pacific countries.
First off, this guitar is gorgeous, with beautiful body and neck binding, and pearloid inlays. The tuners hold tune nicely. Mine came set up well, with low action, but there is plenty of saddle if one wants to lower the action further. Intonation is excellent. It is strung with Fender 80/20 12-52 coated strings, which i had never tried but actually really like. It produces a lot of volume for its size, and finger style playing is very comfortable. The tone is very balanced across the board. The Fishman amplification system is simple to use, and plugged in it maintains it's well balanced sound, with no extreme brightness or boominess. One fantastic thing that Fender did on the guitar, was place the output jack lower on the side of the guitar instead of using the strap pin location. I never liked leaning my guitar against something with a cord sticking right out of the bottom. If there is one weak feature (and now I am nit-picking), the built in tuner, while lovely to see, is not super accurate, but certainly in a live setting it will get you close enough quickly. The case is high quality and includes a humidification system.
I cannot comment on the other Paramount Models, but I think you will enjoy this guitar.
Lastly I will tell you that I did buy this on sale from Custom Guitars Friend.
