I've owned this guitar for a couple years now, and it's a real workhorse. It's done everything from punk to blues to jazz and everywhere in between.Pickups: The single coils, to my ears, sound pretty much the same as the single coils on a normal MIM strat. The humbucker definitely has more punch than the MIM models; it is a hotter sound.
Neck: This is where this guitar shines compared to normal MIM strats. Maybe it's just the one I have, but the gloss coating on the neck makes it feel buttery smooth and can't-put-it-down amazing. The neck profile is also a little fatter than normal strats, which I like.
Hardware: Nothing out of the ordinary here, 5-way switch and normal fender trem.

.I bought this in a pawn shop in Seattle on the 21st anniversary of getting my first guitar while up for xmas. A flight (in a case) and a setup later, this thing is my go-to guitar next to my 91/92 MIM Tele. I had am Am Std that I could never really get into no matter what mods I did, but this thing was love at first strum. Quality construction, finish, and sound. The neck is CHUNKY -just how I like it. Deeper than the "modern C" and fun to play. The pups sound great and I have no intentions of changing them at the moment. If you're looking at this with any interest, buy it. If you don't like it, pawn it and maybe some lucky person will swoop in.

Right out of the box it was perfect {just needed tuning} No scratches,no blemishes and was set up perfectly.{just what you would expect from a new Fender. I have played for 50 years and this guitar far exceeds all I hoped for. I ordered from, a rep by the name of Ben. You will be blessed if you are lucky enough to get Ben when you call. l asked him a million questions and he was very informative and patient. He made suggestions, but never tried to up sell me. I will be back for effects and recording gear in the future.

.I bought this guitar to turn it into my own custom Kurt Cobain "VANDALISM" black strat that he played. I changed the black pick up covers to white, changed neck to rosewood, and nicked and scratched it up like Kurts Strat. After all the abuse I put it through sounds amazing. The maple neck felt great and played fast. I just needed the rosewood to make it like Kurts. But overall FN nice guitar.

.My guitar came in needing a little TLC but after a small set up it plays and sounds great. I am only using it to practice with at this time but after I get used to the shorter scale of this Guitar I can see adding it to my stage lineup. The finish is fantastic but I kinda have a thing for Black Guitars.
