I have many other amplifiers and all but two of them are tube amps. I already owned a Blues Jr. what is considered today to be the Blues Jr. II. I purchased the Blues Jr. NOS because I didn't think I would like the new speaker or the sparkle modification made in the newer Blues Jr. III. However, the Blues Jr. NOS is an animal all unto it's self. Don't let people kid you when they say, that the only difference between the Blues Jr. II and the Blues Jr. NOS is the speaker and cosmetics, the Jensen c12n speaker in the NOS Blues Jr. makes the amplifier sound much louder and I also, prefer the sound of the Blues Jr. NOS to the sound of the Blues Jr. II.
I had originally purchased the Blues Jr. NOS to use with an overdrive, chorus and digital delay, in stereo with my Blues Jr. II, however, it seems that I'll have to put a Jensen c12n speaker in my Blues Jr. II before I'll have the balance between the two amplifiers that I was looking for.

.Great amp but ad is very misleading. This amp is not lacquered as the ad indicates. MF has been advertsing this amp for some time now and I have discovererd that Fender is not making the lacquered tweed at this time. The amp is not a NOS. NOS refers to NEW OLD STOCK. At one time Fender issued the amp with tubes made "back in the day". These tubes were brand new and left over from the old days. The tubes in this amp are standard GT tubes. This amp is actually a standard tweed version with a Jensen speaker. It is called an FSR Limited Edition version of the Blues Jr. It does have a tube guard to keep the tubes seated. I have contacted MF several times and they say they will remove the ad or at least change it as it is very misleading. I returned the first amp I received due to a very loud hum that occurred after about a 10 minute warmup. Of course the tweed was not lacquered as well and after several calls to MF and Fender I discovered that lacquered tweed Blues Jr.s are not being manufatured now. Fender indicated to me that over 100 different versions of the Blues Jr. have been produced. I have 45 years experience, own about 20 guitars and 5 Fender tube amps as well as many other instruments.

.Having a small recording studio I have 8 quality amps and 10 high end guitars. Each amp and guitar has it's place depending on the type of music I'm recording. The Marshall JVM410H takes care of my classic rock or metal. While the Fender Twin and deluxe handle the clean end. Even so, I wanted an amp that would get a little break up but not distorted. After doing my research I decided on the Vox AC15C1, and the Fender Blues Jr. NOS. I've now had the Blues Jr. NOS for over two years, and I would let my Marshall go before I would the Fender. The sounds you can get out of this small easy to carry box is amazing. In addition, it is very pedal friendly and great for recording. Don't let the 15 watts fool you, this little amp with an overdrive pedal will get loud. I feel that it could be used in a club setting if it was miced through the PA. The fat button when pushed down gave me the break up I was looking for, and I have never had to turn the reverb over 3. The Blues Jr. NOS has the 12" Jensen speaker, and I suggest you spend the extra instead of getting the one that is black. The brown tweed gives it that vintage look, and just looks great. It has never given me a problem, and is built really well. The only complaint I have, is the fact that is doesn't have a standby switch on it. Fender really short changed us by not adding that feature. Nevertheless, I still love this amp and would replace it in a heart beat if something happen to it. The Fender Blues Jr. is in the same price range as my Vox AC15C1. If I had to choose between the two, the Fender would come out on top. If your looking for an amp that is low in watts but sill strong in sound. Look no further than the Fender Blues Jr. NOS.

.So far, I've used it to practice by myself and also played a couple of times with my friends and I would definately recommend this amp.
I received my Blues Junior NOS about two weeks ago, it has that famous Fender sound and it comes with a 12 " Jensen speaker that is great for Blues and Classic Rock, and just like the regular Blues Junior, it also comes with a volume and a master volume knob that allows you to push the tubes and get good distortion without blowing all the windows in the house. There is a dirty button that can be controlled by a foot switch (sold separately). So far, I used it with a Boss Blues Driver and with a Boss DS-2 and they both sound good with this amp. Finally, I find that the tweed covering gives a very nice vintage look to this little amp.
When I first plugged in the amp, the sound was very weak, so, I unscrewed the back panel and I found out that the speaker is connected to the amp with a standard jack that had loosened up during transportation, I simply pushed it back in, and now it works perfectly.
Only time will tell, but so far, It appears to be a great value for the price.

.I can't imagine why any blues, jazz, country or blues-rock player would not like this amp. If you play heavy rock or metal, this isn't going to be the amp for you. Then again, it is called a Blues Junior. I play out with this in church twice a week and at an occasional open mic night at local coffee shops. It hasn't let me down a bit. What this amp does, it does well. I prefer to play without pedals, but when I do use them they all sound fantastic through the NOS. I will say this though: the more you play through the speaker, the better it sounds. Give it a cance to break in. You'll be glad you did. On a side note, I do wish Fender would produce a genuine 6v6 powered amp in this format. That would open up Fender devotees to some serious vintage options.
Still can't figure out why they won't throw a standby switch on it, but oh well. You still get a lot of amp between the tweed finish, reverb, "Fat" switch and upgraded speaker.
I've had it for well over a year and have had no problems at all. I had the guitar input jack replaced with a metal Switchcraft jack as more of a precaution. Amp is solid and sturdy.
This amp has just about everything I need at this price point. Fender tube tone for roughly half a grand. Between the volume an master knobs, you can make it quiet enough to play at home in your living room or loud enough to jam unmic-ed on a small to medium stage. It covers a lot of ground for the money.

.When I walked into my local guitar shop this Saturday, I was completely ready to buy a box ac15. I was returning an egnater tweaker due to a lack of warmth and a boxiness to its sound. When I plugged into the AC I was expecting the warm smooth tone of my ac30 and was disgusted at the result I got instead. Weak thin and dead sounding I stood up in despair. Then one of the employees at the store referred me to this little beauty and it was love at first sound. It had the full room filling sound I would usually associate with a 2x12 in the size and weight of a 1x12. I have been looking all summer for an amp that would work for my dorm room this fall and I found it here. I play a more contemporary blues and the hot and dirty tone that it has. I thought when I picked this up that it would be a back up amp that I wouldn't mind playing but now that I have it...wow! It's my new go to. For anyone looking for classic rock, jazz, blues and an amp that can sound just like a jumbo acoustic through a fender strat this is it look no further!

Ps: the ladies love the tweed cover

.Easy to carry, amazing sound clarity, a great bang for the buck.....what else do you need?
If your objective is to own an amp that delivers beautiful clean souds, this is the one to own. It's a great balance between the key points of price, performance, quality and weight. This was the amp I was shooting for when I first purchased a Super Champ XD series amplifier. The Blues Jr. is at least 2X or even 3X the sound quality.

.If I could choose only one amp, this would be it. If it were stolen, I would replace it immediately. I fell in love with this amp from the moment I plugged into it and still love it.
Sleek, simple and to the point. This amp is a no-nonsense, single channel tube wonder. The reverb is great and very useful, I love the fat switch, but I honestly can't decide whether I like it better with or without it on; both tones are excellent. And, this amp is LOUD. Still small enough to get a good bedroom volume, but it's 15 watts pumping through the 12" Jensen speaker holds it own with the band too, and the tone really opens up at high volume.

The clean tones on this amp are amazing and pumped it creates some nice gritty distorition, but fear not, it handles effects perfectly. Just plug in your favorite stompbox and get anything you need out of this little monster.
Built like a tank, this little wonder weighs nearly 40 pounds and feels solid as a rock. Definitely a gig-worthy amp.
Worth every penny, this amp is built to last and handle whatever you throw at it.

The upgraded speaker in this amp is well worth the $80 markup compared to the standard Blues Junior. Really excellent upgrade.

.Mine was just called NOS. It did not have the amber shellac. But the same amp I'm pretty sure. I had a black Hot Rod III few years ago. Did not really like it that much. But this one with the Jensen C12 has got it going on. Plus I like tweed. Don't waste your money modding this amp. However I will recommend one thing. Put a Solvek 5751 tube in the V1 slot. Its the tube on the right looking at the back of the amp. I won't go into the details of what that does just do it. Basically it turns it into a wonderful loud amp. No more of the early tube mud on the volume dial. It takes a few more minutes to warm up and kick in.

.Playing my black tolex version along with this version I came to the conclusion they both sound great, just a little different. The NOS has a Jenson speaker that makes it sound different. I can not personally choose a favorite. They just sound good in different ways! I love the late fifthies and early sixties look of the NOS though, but then I like 1936 Fords and WWII fighter aircraft. Great service from Custom Guitars Friend, they got it to me quickly and in great condition.
What you expect with a Blues Junior.
Well Built.
This amp is pretty cool!
