Product Features

The GK Studio Negra is the ultimate gigging instrument. Built with a solid European spruce top and Indian rosewood back and sides, this nylon string guitar comes equipped with a soft cutaway and Fishman Presys Blend pickup. The GK Studio Negra is a flamenco guitar made for the stage, constructed with a slightly thinner body depth, neck, and nut width than a traditional Spanish guitar. The neck is designed to have little or no relief, offering low action for ease of comfort and quick playability.

For flamenco players, this model offers a bassier and more robust tone in contrast to the bright, snappy sound of ˜blanca™ flamenco guitars, but any guitarist looking for a new tone to add to the repertoire will feel right at home with the GK Studio Negra. With its comfortable body shape and classic tonewood combination, this model is the perfect choice for exploring the nuances in sound that can only be captured with nylon strings.

Like every Cordoba guitar, this model also has a two-way truss rod built into the neck. Other features include a rosewood fingerboard and bridge, high gloss finish, clear golpeadores (tap plates), and premium Savarez Cristal Corum strings. The GK Studio Negra includes Cordoba' deluxe gig bag.

I've been through a lot of nylon string acoustics, better than a dozen and they all come up short in some area. So unless you can afford a really high-end modeI I would recommend this one.
It has good workmanship, amazing tone, playability, looks and a reasonable price. All I had to do is put on normal tension strings, make a small adjustment to the saddle and I was off and running. Mike it with a good condenser in the studio and you will have that classic flamenco tone or plug it in your acoustic amp for live playing and it sounds amazingly good. This is the best guitar for this genre on the market that you will find without paying a fortune.

.This is the perfect guitar for those who play steel string and are looking to go nylon. It's super playable and loud. The basses can boom. There's lots of bottom end, which I love. The looks are amazing with super dark back and sides (Rosewood) that contrast the very light top (Spruce.) The tuners are pure class also. Overall, I would say this is an amazing guitar in this price range.

.good
I bought this guitar as i change my playing style from latin jazz into flamenco. i own a fancy taylor sapelle and a ovation nylon and this guitar gives me the sound i like the best thought it lacks bass when plugged into my mixer. It came with a little buzzing on the E and A strings but i fixed it. i will get a more expensive cordoba next time.good guitar for a big and clear sound on stage. the preamp has a tuner knob that if u forget to press it back to playing mode will drain your battery in a day.
good
ok

.If you play steel string and want to get into nylon, GET THIS GUITAR. If you want to diversify your sound, again, just buy it. It's ridiculously playable and loud. This guitar is also pure class when it comes to appearance. The details in the gold tuners along with the contrast of spruce (top) and rosewood (back and sides) is unreal. The bass notes on this thing can boom, which I absolutely love. On top of it all, you can plug it in (although I haven't yet). If this is one of the guitars you're considering, I say go for this one. You can't beat the amount of guitar you get for this price.

.I saw this guitar at our local music store and started playing it. Before I knew it I kept playing for about 45 minutes. I fell in love with it and didn't want to bring it back to its cradle. It was too bad and didn't have enough money to pick it up when it was being sold for its original price. Then came Christmas sale with Custom Guitar's Friend, I could not resist that they had it on sale.
Unfortunately, it didn't get shipped out on time for the holiday so I received it on 01/10/14.

I brought it to our rehearsal and my band mates at my church heard it the first time. I was told that I should use it for the actual play. I used it the first time at church being plugged-in on the mixer via direct box. Voila, it sounded even better when it is plugged in. I got a lot of compliments after we got done playing.

I like the fact that it is very light compare to my Taylor 814CE. It is very quiet, and love the electronics of it, thanks to Fishman. It has a built in tuner and some controls on volume, base, mid, high tone, and the notch for controlling feed back.

I guess the only negative thing I could say is that Cordoba should have installed a strap button on the heel of the guitar neck. This is important when playing the guitar standing up with a guitar strap.

To sum it up, I would give this guitar a 5 star still. To me an acoustic guitar as first and foremost is about the fat warm tone and its playability. Also the design and craftsmanship is decent. I think this guitar is great for acoustic players who are looking for a decent sound whether it is played unplugged or plugged in, and relatively affordable without spending more than a thousand.

.I purchased this guitar used, and it was defective. So I had to return it for an exchange. I spoke with a Service Rep and told him that I was willing to pay the difference in price so I could get a brand new one, because I did not want to take another chance. I don't know why he wouldn't let me do it, and although the one I received is pretty good, I am still mad.

After playing a friend's Cordoba, I knew I had to have one. This guitar exceeded my expectations in it's playability, onboard tuner, and sound. This will be my 'go to' guitar from now on. The price was exceptional as it was 'blemished' I could find only one tiny button scratch on the back & the fingerboard bore no marks of having been played. I need to get used to the nylong strings, they are not broken in yet & are still tuned down a step from normal- Hey, that's what capo's are for

.After letting this November '13 purchase acclimate for several hours from the cold UPS truck, I took it out of the well-packed shipping overbox and out of the inner Cordoba box. Tuned it up and away we went. Sweet tone and have not even tried it amplified yet. Glad that I went for the Negra style. Love the color more than the photos. Nice size too.

Would like to see the addition of a strap button on the neck heel to keep it high when wearing it.
