I had the chance to play this bass recently, and it really, really blew me away. I know its $5000 for an IBANEZ! but its a great use of that money. Trust me, I've owned a LOT of high quality basses(Ritter, Pedulla, Warwick, Spector, Fodera, Zon....) and this really gives those companies a run for their money. The different tones that crank out of it are unbelievable. Ibanez's use of an aguilar preamp was right on the money, in my opinoun the best on the market. It allows the bass to really bring out deep lows and crystal highs. The neck is so incredibly thin and fast(I usually hate really thin necks but this soooo good). The tone woods used are kinda standard, pretty good woods in all. The craftmanship is top notch. The only thing that threw me off when I first picked it up was that the spacing is incredibly small, I think 14.5mm!!! So it was a little difficult to slap, but it was awesome playing chords(so much easier than any other bass ive owned). Would I buy this bass? Actually I'm on the fence about it, I just might cause it truly is an amazing top quality bass. It could be a cheaper price, I would put it at $4000 but still consider it if you got the dough. This bass is like 10 levels higher than any other ibanez ive ever played. The high price really is worth it.
