Good Uke. Soft tones. Pretty wood grain. Bridge was a little too high for me, but sandpaper made it work. Once again, good Uke.

.I just recently received my Ibanez UKC 10 ukulele in the mail a couple days ago, and I have to say that I am quite pleased with the product. I did not expect to receive this kind of quality for the price that I paid.

Ibanez is a Japanese brand owned by Hashino Gakki. Ibanez was one of the first Japanese companies to make its mark as a major musical instrument production company. Ibanez was also among the first companies to mass produce seven-string guitars and eight-string guitars.

In the previous years, I have had experience using Ibanez products, and I was always satisfied with it. This, however, is the first time I ever bought a ukulele from them. Right out of the box, I saw its Ibanez brand stamp on the headstock just like every other guitar or guitar-like products they sell. It had a dark natural finish with no cutaway just like the description on the website. The tuning of the strings was off, but that was something I expected. Besides, I had to completely re-string the ukulele because I am left-handed.

The process of rearranging the strings did not take too long. I only had difficulty with the C string since I had to jam it in the bridge slot that was originally intended for the thinner E string. Thereafter, I was able to feel the comfort and softness of the nylon strings against the fret broad.

The only thing I wished Ibanez had improved upon was the action. It was a bit higher than it should have been, but it was something that I could fix with sand paper. I just found it annoying that I had to in the first place. The sustain coming off the strings, I suppose, was pretty normal for a ukulele. I didn't expect it to hold a note for more than five seconds anyway. I played the ukulele for about an hour, and tried to see if the tuning stayed put. I had to retune it 4 times in the span of an hour. I'm not surprised at all about this discovery since I know that with any new string instruments you have to "break them in," so to speak. I'm sure that after a while, I won't have to retune it as often.

Overall, I think the UKC 10 is a decent ukulele especially for the price. Now if you don't want to deal with the minor kinks I mentioned earlier, you'll probably need to invest in a more expensive ukulele. Since I don't plan on becoming a full time musician, the UKC 10 is enough to do the job for me.

If you have had other Ibanez products in the past and are looking to purchase a ukulele, then I think you should definitely invest in the UKC 10.

.This is a solid starter uke that plays well up to about the 8th fret. Above that intonation starts to get pretty poor. It also comes from the factory with a nut so high that playing any open chord in tune is nearly impossible. But I am yet to see a value uke that doesn't suffer from this same problem. Just get out a file or some sandpaper, pop off the nut and sand the back down a bit. Then it turns into a decent sounding uke for strumming on the porch.

It is all plywood construction with no binding to speak of so it is simple and sturdy enough that I can let my kid bang around on it without fear. The gig bag that comes with is useful for keeping the dust off but that is about it.

All in all, this is a solid starter uke that is very comparable to others in this price range. It doesn't fail in any way but doesn't excel either.
