Product Features

The Ibanez Artcore Vintage Series ASV10A Semi-Hollowbody Electric Guitar combines quality and affordability in one versatile guitar. It features a semi-hollow body design that offers the characteristic hollowbody sound, but with reduced feedback. It features a mahogany Artcore vintage set neck in an all-maple body. The bound rosewood fretboard has 22 medium frets and acrylic block inlays. Classic Elite neck and bridge pickups deliver a broad range of tones while the ART1 bridge makes intonation and action easy to adjust. Case sold separately.

Ibanez introduced Artcore in 2002 and has been the hollow-body guitar of choice for musicians for the last 10 years. The Artcore's combination of quality workmanship and affordability has created legions of fans from diverse genres as blues, country, rock and jazz. Custom Guitars can find the purity of an old school style jazz-box to a hybrid semi-hollow rocker. Artcore is highly respected for its tone, sustain and the way they hold their tuning and how the series continues to push the boundaries of guitar building.

I was out looking for a another Strat to have as a number 2 gigging backup, played 4 different Strats, while making my final decision on which was best suited for me, a fellow musician walked in and noticed this puppy on the corner wall... he picked it up and said this looks cool, I agreed, and we decided to plug it in. 2 hours later I left the store with this instead of the Strat, feels like this was one of those hidden gems in the middle of the pack without the continuing outrageous price of Gibson. I haven't had a chance to play rock with the band yet to see if it fits with what we do, but so far this little beast does sound pretty fantastic... creamy smooth and growls with some gain.

I can say this for certain, if you are looking for a great jazz/blues guitar without breaking the bank, this might be the perfect guitar, but you have to play it cause we all know they are all different, even when they are the same. Still need to get a number 2 Strat

(Note: I own Gibson, Gretsch, Fender, Yamaha, Epiphone.... and now new addition to my collection... an Ibanez)

.Although Ibanez gives the pickups another name, they are the same ceramics in the AS73 as far as I can tell. A bit rounder sounding since the body of the AS is more acoustic than the smaller AM (or the AGS83 which i also own--the "rustification by the way is very reminiscent of the AGS series). This guitar is sold, nice old style sure-grip knobs, black binding, block inlay. Neck is fat but fast; if you like a super flat neck this is not for you. Setup was almost perfect just needed some truss tweek. 4 knobs is not fast when you want to change tones as a one knob one vol setup, but it has its advantages if you learn to love them. Like that the finish 'seems' to be thin. I wish they had not gone to such lengths to "old-ify" this guitar by tarnishing the metal and banging the finish in too-random a way (guitar finish gets worn in certain locations and not others) but the nicer neck and knobs prob make the upgrade finish worthwhile.

Guitar is worth even paying full price since it can easily become the main axe alternative to your single coil solid body. I now prefer Ibanez over Gretsch in bang/buck for de workin man.

.I played guitar for about 2 years but have been playing bass for the last 42 years. I wanted to pick up the guitar again and tried many out at local guitar shops....I kept coming back to the Ibanez ASV10A. The feel, look (finish) and action were great right out of the box. It is everything I need and nothing I don't...and the price is excellent for a guitar of this quality!
