.I purchased my Ibanez PF15ECENT Performance Dreadnought Acoustic-Electric Guitar from Custom Guitar's Friend as an "Open Box- level 1 Mint" instrument about a year and a half ago as my main guitar for acoustic solo and band gigs. I've played 80+ shows w/ it since I got it and it hasn't let me down yet. When I purchased this, I was looking for a dependable, playable cutaway dreadnought style w/ a basic EQ/ preamp unit that fit my "live instrument cost criteria"...it can't cost so much that it can't easily be replaced, LOL. So much can happen out there.

It played great out of the box, though I did some tweaking to personalize it...as I always do. New strings, lowered the action a hair, slight neck adjustment...all to bring it to my preferences. It's a solidly built, roadworthy acoustic/ electric guitar. It has no problem staying it tune (and I tend to strum aggressively at times and drop D tune quite a bit throughout shows) and isn't affected by weather/ humidity changes very much. The AEQ-2T is a nice, basic preamp unit...very no-frills but does the job more than adequately. Just being a Bass/ High/ Volume arrangement, I was concerned about the mid range giving it a hollow, boxy sound (I tend to like to cut the mids on my acoustics)...I don't hear that at all. It's a very nicely balanced sounding guitar. Live shows are a such a pleasure when you have an instrument you can rely on. When playing higher volume shows, I do need to use a soundhole feedback buster...not a problem IMO. The neck and fretboard have a nice, smooth feel, easy fretting of chords, little to no fret buzz, etc. Works well w/ a basic Kyser capo. I use Martin SP Phosphor Bronze custom lights (11-52).

Besides live performances, it has recorded really nicely using a single USB studio condenser mic and has a bit more of an aggressive edge than my Martin D-28.

The one negative I can find is the AEQ-2T onboard tuner is VERY slow to respond. For me it doesn't matter because I use Snark clip-ons anyway.

I was very excited to take it out of the box, but when I tuned it and started playing I got a buzz on the third string and it was the 4th or 5th fret so I returned it and I'm in the process of getting another one of the same model hopefully this one has no issues or else I'll order a different brand.
