If you're a rock or blues player who wants great tube overdrive and pristine cleans along with responsive tone controls, this is the amp you're looking for. I'll be honest, when I began my search for a low-watt tube amp with variable watt settings, this wasn't even on my radar. However, once I plugged in, my search came to an quick end. For me, great cleans are THE number one feature in an amp and this one delivers in spades. Throw the boost switch and you then get classic rock crunch. When you want great overdrive, jump to the tubescreamer function. No matter the setting, this amp is warm sounding and retains string definition. The bass and treble controls are very responsive and useful. Dailing your guitar's volume control up or down is also an effective tone tool with this amp. I primarily play a Grestch Power Jet and a Fender Telecaster. Both retain their character through this amp. If you're a rock or blues guy, give this amp a go. You won't be sorry.

.In a world now filled with lots of low powered tube amps, micro stacks, and other small amps this amp is not in the same league as the Orange Tiny Terror, Egnator Tweeker or other such amps.I personally use an Egnator Rebel 30 head and two 1X12 cabinets so this amp is half of the wattage and has only one cabinet. It has a pretty darn good clean sound but the alleged tube screamer distortion is pretty bad. It seems no matter how you adjusted the gain it still sounds pretty muddy. One real missing feature which you should have on any small amp is a direct out which this amp doesn't have, a glaring omission. One thing keep in mind the price and remember you only get what you pay for.At this price point the clean sound is good, and it is a pretty amp. I am a pro musician not a guy who works during the week and plays weekends in a hobby band. I tried this amp out before I purchased the Egnator and decided to pay more and get a better amp.

.I got this without playing through it with the intention of returning it if it wasn't what I was looking for. After playing through it for a few weeks it is not going back. The clean is pristine and has a very unique character. With the tubescreamer engaged and the volume on full you are in classic rock territory. Very Thin Lizzy. I plan to get a second one and have a stereo rig going on.

.The Ibanez Tube Screamer Half Stack at $500.00 represents a great value for an all tube amp. Both components are lightweight, so they can easily be transported anywhere. The cream finish adds a classy touch. However it is the sound which really impresses. Played clean, you get a pure clear sound, which becomes even warmer if you add a reverb pedal. The tube screamer gives you a tonal palette which takes you from crunchy to blues to overdriven rock. I play a Gibson ES 339 and a Fender American Standard Tele and they both sound great through this amp. The 6db boost is another great feature. All in all, very satisfied.

.I have been playing for about four years I think, and last year I bought this amp as my first all-tube amp. I tried out several amps trying to find the right one. Of course, I wanted the Marshall that I tried out, and then learned it's price. Then I narrowed it down to this thing and a Fender Frontman I think. Honestly, I thought the Fender was better in everything except the cleans without reverb. With reverb, the Fender was amazing. But I was in a hurry and wanted to leave that day with an amp. I agree that the cleans on this thing were great, but the overdrive sounded a little too punchy for me. It kind of sounds like it was a little boxy and stiff, even after I broke it in. I play mostly rock and hard rock. But I learn a little of everything, so I decided that this was a versatile enough amp and I have a Digitech RP500 that I could use for my hard rock tones and other effects. This thing can crank out the sound. I'm glad that I bought this as my first tube amp. But I sold it recently becasue I really need a smaller amp for my dorm (going for a Blackstar).

.I bought this and loved it, but felt the speaker was a bit sterile. So I dropped in a Celestion G12H and OMG, it comes alive. Better than the boutique stuff I have owned and I mean it really holds its own and at that price, you cannot do better.
Ibanez Tube Screamer Series TSA15H Head and TSA112C 1x12 Half Stack
.When I was shopping I was looking for an amp that could both be heard with other instruments live, and cater to my personal taste, which is shades of "metal". This was not the amp for me. The Tube Screamer effect is not a metal distortion, it's a smoother crunch for rock. "loud, balanced sound that cuts through the mix with plenty of full, meaty guitar tone." I find inaccurate. When played on 15v setting, volume maxed with the matching 80w cab, you will still struggle to be heard over your drummer, assuming they're not using brushes or other sound dampening sticks. The footswitch is oddly not included in this package, which seems a necessity for live playing. So is it a bad amp? Definitely not, this amp boasts a nice clean and TS tone, handy standby switch, headphone jack and a very sturdy construction. I'd recommend it to someone who plays jazz, or rock but certainly not the heavier side of music, assuming it's for home use or jamming excluding drums.

I really like this amp. It sounds awesome in many ways. I really don't like when it fails in the middle of a good time. It is about to go back for repairs for a second time. I have the warranty till 2014. I will continue to use it and get it repaired until the warranty expires. then I'm afraid I'll be trying another brand. Ibanez Guitars are my favorite. Unless they want to send me a New amp that doesn't fail twice in a year, I can't say the same for their amps.

.High quality half stack tube amp at a very reasonable price. You get more for what you pay. I can't really say anything bad about this amp. I like this piece of equipment. Perfect for home use and probably could be loud enough for small gigs. (I haven't tried cranking up the volume all the way up because it gets too loud and it's not even turned half way @5watts). It has a very nice and clean white finish, and the build quality is superb. The built in tube screamer and boost are awesome You can really use it as a stand alone overdrive. .It also takes pedals well. Get it and you won't be disappointed.

.Tried one today at a store and was thoroughly impressed with the clean sound with a Tele: fat, sparkly goodness. The amp had less apparent volume then I would have expected for 15 watts -- I have lower watt tube amps that are louder. But I suppose it was 15 watts of clean. The way this one was set up, the sound was really clean even with the amp dimed (with single coils), even with the clean boost on. Of course that all is *before* you turn on the tube screamer circuit. I've been wondering for years why it isn't more common to pair a good sounding non-digital amp with the circuit from a popular overdrive pedal or two. Granted I came to the TSA15H with no particular expectations, but I liked its clean tone better than a Deluxe Reverb Reissue that sat nearby. If these turn out to be durable, they'll probably be a home-run in the sales department for Ibanez.
