I've had this Ibanez mahogany parlor from MF for about six weeks. I work from home and keep it handy when taking breaks, composing, or picking on the porch. It is surprisingly light weight. Larger dimensions than some parlors, but very comfortable. I love the slotted headstock (thanks for leaving the company logo off, Ibanez, since that adds a bit of old-timey mystery to the appearance). I think these open gear tuners are dandy -- just needed a touch of oil to keep them smooth and quiet. Yes, it stays in tune nicely. The generous nut width is great for fingerstyle, but applicable to any style. The stock strings were really nice. I played them like crazy for almost a month, then put on some Martin SP Lifespan 12's, which are perfect for this 25" neck.
I love the warm mahogany look and sound, which is quite different from my spruce-top guitars. The sustain is quite remarkable, as the Ibanez video demonstrates. I was wavering between this and a more expensive guitar with solid mahogany back and sides. I did not get to compare in person, but I'm very happy with this tone.
My only reason to knock this from 5 stars to 4 was the setup. The action was quite high, for my tastes. Maybe folks who prefer aggressive strumming in first position would find it perfect "as is". But I not only tweaked the truss rod, which is easy and smooth, but also (very carefully) sanded the saddle and filed the nut just a bit. (Nice bone material on those.) Now the action is very, very nice. All other workmanship seems excellent. Smooth fret ends. Nice body work and binding.
I've been playing for 55 years. I have a spruce/rosewood Taylor GS Mini, which I really love. It's smaller and incredibly playable. I also have a solid cedar Washburn and a Martin D-28. The D-28 is of course a cannon, with beautiful tone and lots of bass, but it seems like a lot more work to play.
This Ibanez AVN5-OPN is beautiful to look at. Fun to play. Great old-timey, down-home vibe. Great price.

.I purchased this for my daughter yo take to college. The size of this parlor guitar is a perfect. Small enough to easily transport and store in a dorm but large enough to provide good acoustics. I am very impressed with the build quality of the guitar. The binding is nice and flush, frets seems to be finished well and the internal construction looks good with no excessive glue or sloppiness. Sound is bright which you would expect from a smaller body guitar but still rich. Exterior finish is very nice with no obvious imperfections. One of the tuners is a little tight and I dont know if it will loosen up over time. The tuners do feel a little cheap which is why this is rated a 4 and not a 5.

.Beautiful solid top mahogany guitar. Parlor size is great for sitting in my easy chair practicing and noodling, can even play it in my Prius! Lovely open pore finish looks and feels nice. Sound is warm and mellow when played with fingers, and full-bodied when played with pick. I love the 12-fret neck. Very easy to play. I added some size 10 silk and steel strings to make it just a bit quieter (I practice at night), and to make easier on my finger tips (just starting to play again). Perfect combination. This is an amazing guitar for the price.

.Was looking for an 0 size guitar, picked this one out over the recording king. Should have gone with the recording king. I expected more from Ibanez, but the last couple I have bought of this brand I have felt let down on. This guitar is very heavy for it's size. I'm guessing from all the laminate. The 3 piece neck was evident and there was no attempt to try to get the grain or even the wood color to be similar between the 3 pieces. The neck is think and chunky like a baseball bat. Not much volume. Construction was not that fantastic, inadequate sanding. Showed up with some damage. Took the opportunity to return it
