...what's wrong with people who rate a guitar like this a 1 or 2. I have been playing professionally for almost 30 years and currently play an average 100 jazz and Brazilian gigs a year. I think this is simply a jewel of a guitar. Deep lows, shining highs, wonderful playability. And it's a little thinner that other semi-hollows, making it slightly lighter and more unique. By the way, talking about hearing things which are not there, there are also those who claim they can hear differences between different makes of bulk CDs ("that brand sounds fresher").... .If you are looking for a great and versatile 335 guitar type, this is the right guitar for you. I've been playing guitar for almost 30 years – mainly jazz for the last 10 years – and through all these years I owned more than 40 guitars. I've never had a guitar like my Ibanez JSM100. The guitar was made in 2006 and I have to say, it's not only a very beautiful instrument, it has an amazing and absolutely flawless finish. I purchased this guitar to replace a '91 sunburst Gibson 335 that I had to sell. That 335 made me happy for a few months but unfortunately I was forced to turn it into money... When I picked up my Ibanez JSM100 I have to admit that my expectations about the guitar were very low, but it became a very positive surprise. The guitar is gorgeous, the finish is impeccable, the tones are great and it's a very comfortable instrument to play. I'm in love with this guitar. I'm playing my Ibanez JSM100 everyday and, for my taste, I consider this guitar a better instrument than all the Gibson 335s that I had in the past. If you're looking for a great tone and a good tool to make your music, you should give it a try! But be careful: Don't do that if your main concern is the logo engraved on the guitar's headstock.

.I bought this beauty as a favor from a friend who need some fast cash. What a deal!! After a few adjustments to the neck and a pro set up, this baby plays better than my ES345. THe workmanship on this instrument is amazing. The tone versatility and range is outstanding. I can go from the smoothest jazz tones to some teeth gritting blues crunch and hammerin' metal with no problem. For the real collector; this is a must have.

.It arrived packed nicely in a hardshell case. The guitar was also wrapped in a soft bag inside the case. The guitar was pre-struing and flawless in apperance. I plugged it into my VOX AC15 amp and started jamming. The tone covers a broad range from heavy/warm to light/crisp. The fretboard is phenomenal. It's a tapered neck which gets thinner as you approach the guitar body. This is my first experience with a neck like this and I love it. It's makes chords easier and leads faster. This is wonderful guitar. I doubt anyone returns this guitar during the 45 day return policy. If your looking for a guitar in this style then you owe it to yourself to at least play one. Good luck on your search.

.I bought one of these last Fall. After about a two weeks of playing it a few mintues here and there, changing strings a few times, and other general setup stuff, I discovered the mid-range G notes were dead, would not sustain at all. Not a problem on a run but try to hang on the note for more than a beat and forget it. MF would not take it back after 10 days. Sent in for warranty, they sent a new one. It had the same problem! (different s/n). Sent that one back. The warranty center called me to say all the ones they have do the same thing. MF finally agreed to give my money back. Beware!

.This guitar was a major disappointment. Sure, it looks pretty... but, the neck is terrible, and the craftsmanship is very questionable. I would be cautious with this guitar... I'm selling mine right away!
