It definitely isnt the best guitar in the world, but its absolutely unfair that the only review for it is 2 stars. By no means fret edges are sharp. However the fretboard itself is a bit sharp(got used to it in about 2-3 days). Build quality is good. Really enjoyed thinness of the body, and the weight(comparing to other ibanezes). The tone is great, except for middle single pickup makes a bit of buzz on 6th string, if in droped tunes. Very easy to fix by changing callibre of strings, or increasing action by about a millimetre.Dont like that you cant use D-tuna on it, due to ibanezes specification of locking tremolo bridges. If you tend to switch between tunes often, its gonna be pain, since you have to manually tune it, every time, and its a floyd, so...
Just to give you something to compare, enjoy it more than strat mexican standard, which costs about the same.

.Fret edges were sharp. Volume knob felt like it would break off at any time. Covers on the back are poor fitting. Tremolo jumped around on the pivots. Sure it could have been adjusted, but I didn't bother with all the other things wrong with it. Overall poor quality control. Sent it back the next day.
Disappointed. I didn't expect the best for the price, but this is more like a guitar for half the price. The fret edges being the way they are is just unacceptable for any guitar over a buck fifty in my opinion.
The neck did feel good, not counting the sharp fret edges. The finish was good, a very nice looking instrument. The Inf pickups are mediocre, not too bad and not too good, but I expected that, so no points off.
On the upside, MF customer service was great. Was able to return it quickly with only a few questions. Probably on the phone no more than 10 minutes.

.As of the time of this review, I'm an 18 year old with 6.5 years of experience playing acoutsic and electric guitar. My playing style is pretty broad, from pop to classic rock, metal, hard rock, jazz, acoustic, and worship music.
To be completely honest, I got this guitar used off of Guitar Center's website, but I'm reviewing here for the betterment of the MF community. For the longest time, I'd wanted a guitar just like this, so this is my impression of my "dream guitar."
Body: The gloss finish looks great, but also shows fingerprints and smudges very easily. The blue color is beautiful, and grain is amazing. If you read other review saying their colors are a little more green, it may be *ever so slightly* greener, but it is clearly a beautiful trans blue color. It feels great with the body carving and thinness (I was unsure about buying such a slim guitar before), and the mahogany body is bight and easy on the arms/back. It sits pretty well, but can tip a bit, since it is so thin. I can't comment on strap buttons, because mine came with DiMarzio Clip-locks. The hardware in "cosmo black," or something is more like a dark chrome. Not a complaint, in my opinion.
Neck: This neck feels awesome. It's, what, a Wizard II neck profile? My Ibanez RG5EX1 neck is also a wizard-type, I don't remember which specifically, but that neck is broader and much flatter. This neck feels more traditional or maybe even vintage-y. It's more comfortable IMO, but I don't like that the strings are closer.
Pickups: (I have the model with INFs.) The neck pickup is GREAT, probably the best pickup in the set. The middle is pretty classic and has good clean tones. The bridge is a decent classic voice, but the harmonics on this guitar in this position aren't very good. I'd prefer a hotter pickup in the bridge.
The bridge itself is pretty good. Stable and smooth, looks cool too.
Overall impression: for a dream guitar, it could've been better, but it surely delivers a lot for the mid-price range.
Ibanez S670QM S Series Electric Guitar Sapphire Blue
.I bought an Ibanez S670qm from MF about a year ago. Setup needed a little tweaking for intonation & balancing the floating trem. The charcoal gray quilted maple looks sweet. The sculpted body is lightweight, thin and fits comfortably against your body. Much lighter than my swamp ash Strat. The neck is supper thin, which I've adjusted to. My Strat's neck is thicker and wraps perfectly against the inside of my left thumb, like a glove. The Ibanez being a thinner neck, forces me to sometimes use the pad of my thumb to support the neck, which isn't quite as comfortable as balancing the pressure against the whole thumb. I like the radius and frets on the Strat fretboard better as well, as the Ibanez is a bit flatter and I tend to stumble over its jumbo frets. The fret edges are not sharp as others have noted, but could use a little dressing. I don't divebomb the trem, but find I need to tune the guitar every time before I play it. After just a few weeks of playing, the black paint on the pup rings has worn away. I found the neck pup to be muddy and the mid pup noisy. I replaced them with a Dimarzio Heavy Blues 2 (N) & 54Pro (M) and added copper foil shielding to cut down on RF noise. Sounds much cleaner and better quack in positions 2/4. The only worry I have about this guitar is that it sounds thin compared to my Strat. Upgrading the pups has made an improvement, but still doesn't have that beefy tone that comes from my Strat. There's a chord I play on my Strat through my Mesa that resonates beyond perfection. The same chord on the Ibanez attenuates the bass. I tried adjusting pup height, EQ settings, blocking the trem, etc...no difference. Hopefully heavier strings and tossing in a JB will fix that issue. In fairness, if you're looking for a fairly inexpensive, well featured, good looking guitar for playing metal, the S670 will do you fine. If you're trying to squeeze out some cleaner or classic rock tones, you'll want to upgrade the pups.
