I am very pleased with this guitar. I have been playing USA made Jackson guitars for over 20 years and I still do. I thought I would try something a little different and decided to purchase the RG655. I am really impressed and a little surprised at how much I love the feel of this neck. It is very thin and very wide. I didn't think the neck would feel this wide to me since I play the Jacksons, but it is consideralby wider than my other guitars and I really like it. It seems very easy to play with the wider string spacing and the thin neck and flat radius. The finish is flawless and beautiful, the trem feels really smooth, and I like the sound of the DiMarzios quite a bit. It also comes with a very nice hard case. Overall, I think this is a great guitar for the price, I would recommend it to anyone looking for a fast playing electric guitar with a locking trem. One note, when I went to set up the guitar to my liking, I was frustrated that I couldn't lower the action at the bridge because the studs would not lower. I then looked at the owner's manual and found out the trem features a "stud lock" feature. I had to use the little allen wrench to loosen the stud lock inside the bridge stud and then I could lower the bridge to where I wanted it. Just wanted to give a future owner a heads up on how to adjust the trem. If you are reading this review and are considering buying this guitar, I say get it, you won't be disappointed!

.If you're looking at this Ibanez then you already know what you want, I've played Ibanez guitars for 15 years and this is by far the best you can buy for this price point.. Dimarzio Tone Zone, Air Norton and True Velvet are made for this guitar it seems..

.I bought the Cobalt blue model. It came with NO setup. The action was terrible but since MF doesn't perform setups on the guitars they sell, it was not unexpected. After an evening tweaking the neck, action, and intonation, all is well. It plays great. It's a typical Ibanez neck, very thin, flat and fast. I really like the Edge trem. I forgot how smooth it was. Top notch.

The only downside I see is the pickups. I know a lot of folks like the Dimarzio "Tone Zone" but it's not my style. I like I bridge pickup with a bit of "air", that has some highs and will cut through in a mix. The Tone zone is very dark with little to offer in the way of highs. I've ordered a Dimarzio Evolution set that should be more in line with my taste.

So, it's a nice guitar if you like dark pickups. If not, plan on spending some more cash to correct the issue. I'd recommend it with that reservation.

.I bought this because of hand and shoulder issues . After playing it for a week I'm really digging it. I thought that the humbucker hi gain stuff would be good but was surprised how much I liked the middle and in between sounds . It has enough spank with clean tones. This is a great do all guitar not just for metal.

.Very nice guitar. Arrived in new condition as expected. Case is surprisingly nice as well. It played nice right out of the box, but after a quick setup to my own preference I was on my way (lower action, tweak the truss, lower the pickups). Wide flat neck, the trem does a nice job and has a very smooth action. A little fret buzz after my setup, but I play with very low action so suppose that is to be expected. Nice that they add a multi-tool for the setups. The pickups are pretty hot and modern sounding. A little too hot for me, but an easy change should I decide to go that route. Upper fret access is fantastic, virtually no heel in the way. It is a very light guitar, also very versatile with the HSH pickup configuration. For this price, it is tough to beat...

.When I found myself asked to join a new band, I wound up in the market for a new guitar. The usual guitar I typically play is the Giger edition from 2008 and since the new band would be tuning differently, I didn't feel like dealing with re-tuning a Floyd Rose bridge whenever I needed to play with the new band. I was expecting a few upgrades to my older Giger edition Prestige, but I was really pleased with the changes they've made to this guitar... granted it can't match the aesthetic of the carved Giger, but in all the other ways I think this new Prestige edition exceeds my expectations. When I read another reviewer state the con of the tone being dark with the Tone Zones, I was even more sold on my purchase. I'm primarily playing Black/Death Metal in this project so that is exactly the kind of tone I'm looking for. The new Prestige with these pick-ups certainly delivers that, it felt like we were a whole new band when I added this guitar into the mix! The other major difference against my earlier Prestige model is the thinness of the neck. The other guitarist I work with doesn't like it, because it's way too thin for him, but I really love it. It makes fret work so much faster and it's quite a difference switching between the two guitars and I kind of wish my Giger neck had the same specs. I think Ibanez has hit it's limit on thin for me though, if they tried to shave their neck's down any more than this I would probably find it a hindrance to play, but with this edition, I think it's perfect. I love everything about this guitar and I really can't wait to record our next album with it. I've recorded albums with my earlier Prestige, so I expect this one to perform similarly. In concert I think this Prestige works wonderfully, I get no electronic noise between amplifier and the guitar. In fact, I ended up no longer needing to use a Noise Gate live, because there was no feedback between my amp and guitar. I was really surprised at that, but I won't complain at all.

.Mine was born in April 2015. I bought this guitar THINKING it would be compartable to my 92' RG570. Not even close. I play my IRG20 Iron Label more just cus of overall playablity and feel. IT should not be this way.
