I was looking for a guitar with a factory installed sustainiac or sustainer. I also wanted a guitar with a slim neck and a neck through. I have been playing Ibanez guitars for a long time but I find them hard to keep in tune. In particular, I have a JEM 7Vhw and I just can't play it anymore. Too bright sounding and it just doesn't stay in tune, even with a new bridge.So I took the chance on this Schecter and I am super happy with it. Unlike the previous reviewer I find that the real Floyd along with the set neck provides more tuning stability than any of my ibanez guitars. I have literarily gigged this guitar 4h straight with only few retuning adjustments.
I also think it sounds great. I expected to replace the factory installed bridge pickup right away but I really like it. High output without being inarticulate.
This guitar, to me, is one of the best feeling guitars I have ever played. The neck is so thin and comfortable. It is supposedly reinforced with two carbon rods, which I guess is why it actually stays in tune.
The bad stuff: I had some issues with the volume potentiometer. I had it replaced but I had to special order it from Schecter because it is a non-standard sized pot-meter. It was a pain, but the guitar now works well. Also, a really minor issue is that the bridge pickup keep popping out, as the screws that hold it down are not long/ wide enough. Minor, since even I can replace those, but either issue make me wonder what they were thinking.
Overall, despite the minor problems, this is a phenomenal guitar. It is the only 6 string guitar I play these days, in part because I play in a 80ties style band where I get to channel my inner Steve Vai, but also because the guitar sounds so good and actually stays in tune after heavy whammy bar abuse. I love it so much that I am considering getting a second as a backup. My JEM and PRS guitar just get no love these days. Highly recommended.

.I originally was looking for an instrument with a Sustainiac pickup to supplement my main guitar which is a Steve Vai Ibanez JEM guitar. Within a few minutes of unpacking and noodling around, several things became quite obvious: 1.) the woodwork was gorgeous, 2.) the neck and body were cracked, and 3.) because of cheap hardware it would not stay in tune (all strings kept going sharp and not flat as one would expect with new strings). I was so stoked when I bought it because it was "open box" so I got it for about half price. I thought "open box" meant floor model not defective. So disappointed because that was a Christmas present to myself after enduring my worst Christmas ever. It was just too good to be true.

.A great guitar. LOVE the sustainiac. Super fast neck. No neck heel, so you can access ALL the frets with ease. Great for heavy music, but also works for rock and blues. The sustainiac sounds cool with or without distortion. Much more natural sounding than using a compressor or limiter.
