Grover ROTOMATICS
The original Rotomatic now has an improved higher ratio gearing. The 18:1 ratio provides for finer tuning and greater stability. The finer gears provide smoother tuning and a higher degree of backlash elimination.
Rosewood Fingerboard
The most common fretboard, rosewood is naturally oily, and works well for any surface that sees frequent human contact. The sound is richer in fundamental than Maple because the stray overtones are absorbed into the oily pores.
EMG Active 81/Sustainiac Pickups
81: Utilizing powerful ceramic magnets and close aperture coils, the tone was designed with detailed intensity, incredible amounts of high-end cut and fluid sustain. Sustainiac: This Driver/Pickup produces beautiful Humbucker tones when Sustain switch is off, and works as the Sustainiac Driver when switched On. The Sustainiac Driver creates an infinite feedback sustain of string vibrations by electromagnetic feedback.

I already own a Jackson DK Sustainiac and wanted another model. Being a big Schecter guy I took the plunge on this model. The guitar looks gorgeous,fit & finish is perfect as was the factory setup. That's where the good times ended. After plugging in and engaging the Sustainiac pickup all h3ll broke loose. The screech / squeal was ear splitting and led my dog to run and hide in another room! Also every control knob was binding and needed adjustment. Being familiar with the Sustainiac system I broke out the tools and made some adjustments to the unit which was never set correctly from the factory. It was laughable how far off it was! I also loosened and raised the volume / tone / gain knobs which remedied the binding. Had someone inexperienced received this guitar I guarantee it would be headed back to Custom Guitars Friend. After the tweaks this guitar is top notch and definitely a keeper. I can't stop playing it! The tones are unreal! If you get a good one it's absolutely worth every penny! .This guitar is freaking amazing. I had reservations on buying it though...never owned a Schecter before. So glad I took the leap. This guitar is extremely well made. The finish is awesome (Red). The neck is just right for fast riffing and heavy action. But what sets this guitar apart from the rest is the Sustainiac pickup. I wish all my guitars (27 of them) had this pickup. This Sustainiac pickup is incredible. It Screams!!! During play, this pickup is quick to react. Adds so much dimension to my playing. I find myself playing this guitar more than any other in my arsenal...just because of the Sustainiac. This was a good purchase. I will definitely plan on buying another Schecter for this feature alone. With the Sustainiac and the overall quality of the build, I am now a Schecter Fan for life.

.Beautiful guitar to look at, deep glossy finish- great attention to quality control and fit and finish, every screw and nut is tight. Great pickups, great sound. The reason most of these guitars come with Floyd Rose setups is because without the locking nuts, the guitar wold be unplayable as sadly they use the cheapest bottom-of-the-barrel tuning pegs they can find. So tune it up, and pray you never need to go to drop-D in a hurry. They need to dump those cheezy tuners, fast.

.First off, Custom Guitar's Friend did a great job and got me my guitar within a week of my order. It was also packaged well and came completely set up out of the box. That being said, I play lead in a cover band and have been using a Gibson Sg3 that I've had for a few years now. I also own a few lower end guitars (Epiphone, ESP, etc.) However, I had never played a guitar that came close to the feel or sound of the Gibson. I wanted to try a more modern guitar for some of our music and Schecter was recommended highly from other musicians. What surprised me is that it actually plays better and feels better than my Gibson. I also love the sustaniac driver and the crazy metal sounds you can get from it and the Floyd Rose combined. EMG pickups are a first for me with this guitar and I can see what the hype is all about now. Needless to say I'm very satisfied with my choice on this one. The only change I will probably make is adding a Trem stabilizer and the EVH d-tuna just for more versatility.

.When I finally received this guitar in the mail, I was so excited to get to play it since I had always wanted a good Schecter. Imagine my anger and disappointment after plugging it in and finding out that the bridge pickup cuts in and out while I'm playing due to some faulty wiring in the input jack. When I pay $1000+ for something, I expect it to be high quality with solid craftsmanship, not a half-working product.
That said, everything else is great and lives up to expectations.
