Product Features

The Schecter C-1 Platinum Electric Guitar takes everything guitar players love about the popular C-1 and adds platinum fingerboard inlays, fretboard and body binding, and satin chrome hardware. This C-1 also boasts a double cutaway mahogany body, 25.5" scale set maple neck, and a 24-fret rosewood fingerboard. A Schecter Ultra Access neck joint lets you reach the entire fretboard with ease and comfort. It's loaded with a pair of EMG Active 81/85 pickups for an incredible range of tones.

Grover tuners

The original Rotomatic with an improved higher ratio gearing. The 18:1 ratio provides for finer tuning and greater stability. The finer gears provide smoother tuning and a higher degree of backlash elimination.

Rosewood fingerboard
The most common fretboard, rosewood is naturally oily, and works well for any surface that sees frequent human contact. The sound is richer in fundamental than maple because the stray overtones are absorbed into the oily pores.

EMG Active 81/85 pickups
One of the most popular EMG' the 81 is the one that started a revolution. Utilizing powerful ceramic magnets and close aperture coils, the tone was designed with detailed intensity, incredible amounts of high-end cut and fluid sustain. Traditionally used in the bridge position, this pickup will make your leads slice right through even the densest mix. When used in both neck and bridge positions, the sound can only be described as blistering. Recommended pairings include the classic 81/85 setup.

3-piece maple neck
The C-1 Platinum is made with three pieces of maple for extra stability. Where standard necks may show aging defects from temperature and moisture changes throughout the years, the three-piece neck will stay nice and straight for a lifetime of playability.

I don't usually do reviews but I love this guitar so much I felt compelled to do one. I actually bought this guitar in store and I enjoyed it in the store but when I got home and actually got my hands dirty I realized that I would eat ramen for a month if it meant I could buy this guitar.

First of all this guitar is made for metal. It handles drop tunings unlike any guitar I've owned. After I bought it I put a pair of heavy top light bottom (52-10) and the versatility I'm getting is unreal. With one of my other guitars I had been playing some periphery stuff with the top string tuned down to A and I was like well this has a 52 lets just see what happens. Drop A is actually playable with a 52 on this guitar. I was pretty impressed. Granted it is a little bit floppy but the point is I can play through a whole song in drop A, and then play something in D standard right afterwards and this handles it like a beast. Then with the light bottom strings I can go straight into some bluesy type stuff. On that note, not only is this guitar chuggariffic on the low end but I'm also very impressed with the high end. The action is very nice and allows me to really shred. The pickups are EMGs and I think they are an upgrade from the EMG's I had on my other guitar (that I paid 700$ for). The tuners are also pretty good. They are not locking tuners but they do have a tighter feel to them and the guitar stays in tune pretty well even with the top string tuned to A.

At the 549.00 price point you may be thinking well there really isn't a lot of bells and whistles. The bridge is very standard, no trem system. The electronics are very standard. One tone nob, three way pickup switch. With that said, at this price point you are sacrificing bells and whistles for quality. This guitar feels like its worth more than I paid for it.

The bottom line: If you play Metal, and you can't spend over 600$. This is your guitar. This is my first Schecter and I have a feeling it wont be the last!

.First thing that caught my eye was the 81/85 combo. Now, I am relatively new to using EMG pickups, but at first glance, I fell in love with this guitar! The neck is a 3-piece which is very easy to glide up and down, which is an absolute must for me. The frets are, in my experience of playing on different fretboards over the last 10 - 15 years, a perfect fit. I first picked this up at a Guitar Center near me and didn't want to part with it. Very few of these instruments come my way in which I want it at first glance. The finish is well done. The body of the guitar - I love mahogany wood! Always have. Rosewood - my favorite fretboard. Very smooth playing with a lot of punch via the EMG's! I recommend either putting GHS Boomers on this bad boy or D'Addario's. I can say I am a proud owner and would gladly buy this again!

.Schecter is pretty well known for making a quality guitar for a low price point. The C1 Platinum is built in the South Korea plant and it stands up to most a grand and up guitars that I've played as far as quality goes. In addition to the feel and looks, it is loaded with EMG active pickups. It is a MF/GC exclusive so I assume that it won't be around for too long. I got it for a crazy deal from Custom Guitars Friend and it's hard to believe the quality and features of this instrument for the price I paid. This guitar is worth way more than even the regular price.

.I bought this guitar as part of a cyber week deal for on MF. What an outstanding deal! I have been tracking several Schecters as a metal guitar (Hellraiser C-1, Damien Platinum, etc..). The Damien Platinum (with bat inlays) is the identical guitar as this C-1 Platinum (spec for spec), except for the bat inlays, and the C-1 top looks way nicer in my opinion. This guitar feels super nice and it is very easy to play (I'm a beginner). The neck is very smooth and I really like the xjumbo frets. I can afford a much more expensive guitar, but this guitar is outstanding in every way. To have spent more money would have been a waste! This guitar feels way more expensive than it is. Also, the EMG 81/85 combo is blistering! Metallica, Slayer, Megadeath, etc.. is meant to be played on this bad boy. Buy it, you wont regret it, especially at the current sales price!

.This Guitar can do it all. To start the cords ring true no matter how you play then. Open chords sound clean and lively you can definitely play acoustic style songs. Power cords sound Evil, strong and clear. The neck is smooth and the fret board is buttery. Out of the box the action is dead on. Very easy to chug along muting your playing with the fixed bridge (my favorite). Stays in tune period! Easy to change 9v batt on the EMG's pickups via back acc panel. Light and Sturdy, I've owned the guitar for 2 months no problems yet. This is a fun guitar to play. My band is very happy with it and all my guitar friends like it too.

.Schecter has a pretty solid reputation for build quality & value - something that is certainly backed up by this guitar. I compared it to similar models from ESP, Ibanez & Jackson (all, by the way, were more expensive for the same features). The guitar is setup almost perfect out of the box. The neck is a bit flatter than my other C-1's and that's a great feature for me personally..it falls somewhere between the standard C-1 neck shape and a Wizard III. The transparent black looks amazing and there is almost no drag on the neck thanks to the lack of a glossy finish. The controls are simple, quiet and out of the way. Tuners while not locking are very stable and very responsive. Comes with a Tusq nut as well, another thing I don't have to add later! The EMG's are, well, EMG's...I personally love the 81/85 combo but they may be the only negative I could imagine someone having with this guitar. You could put a set of Duncans in this and still be below the LTD MH or the Jackson SLAT price points and in my opinion have a MUCH more solid guitar (that is NOT made in China like the aforementioned).
Yes, I am completely happy with this guitar and feel like I stole it at under 600

.Good setup out of box, quality materials and finishes. Plays great!
Schecter Guitar Research C-1 Platinum Electric Guitar Translucent Black
.Excellent guitar with a classic feel that combines the best part of the strat and les paul with some new school influence, a solid playing guitar without the $1000+ pricetag and no sacrifice to the quality and craftsmanship
Schecter Guitar Research C-1 Platinum Electric Guitar Translucent Black
.Really love this guitar it looks feels and plays great was set up really nice straight out of the box did not need to re- adjust the action . The neck is very fast you can reach all Allore Freds very easily with the EMG pickups this thing really roars do yourself a favor and grab one and be glad you did.

.The guitar looks and feels great the neck binding is perfect as always can bring the action down a touch but that's just kind of a given. I got this as a steal was cheaper on another site musiciansfriend matched and gave me labor day on top of it it couldn't be happier. I only gave it 4 stars for one reason there's some slight I guess dents to the back of the neck barely noticeable but I know they are there other then that it's a 5.
