After some Internet search, I ordered from the Custom Guitar's Friend a Washburn J3, "Florentine cutaway", fully hollow electric Jazz guitar. Even though I ordered it tobacco sunburst – I ended up with a natural finish (a blonde with which I am now in love). Here is how:There was one restock tobacco sunburst model listed at a significant discount, so I asked for it (and even paid for express shipping). It arrived relatively promptly – beautiful, in a great case, with just a small ding on one side (which could be fixed with a drop or two of a Super Glue). Unfortunately, when I plugged it into my amplifier - it was mute. None of the two active humbuckers responded. I checked cables, control knobs, switch – nothing obvious, just no signal from the humbuckers.
I packed it back into original box, called the customer service, and within a couple of minutes I got from them a pre-paid return label through my e-mail. Since the Custom Guitar's Friend had no another tobacco sunburst in stock, I was offered a natural finish, for which I agreed (at first, reluctantly). The all exchange procedure did not cost me even a penny (except my fee paid for the "express" shipment) and the only inconvenience was that I needed to drop it at the nearby UPS store.
After a few days (still in time for my gig) a brand new J3 - natural finish arrived in a virgin condition (in a great, sturdy case). Wow! That's a real natural blonde beauty!
I plugged it into my small Behringer ACX450, 45W amplifier, and it sounded nice out of the box. After tuning and lowering the action, I played it for some 30 min, and decided that the strings it arrived equipped with are terrible for my style (apparently, they were the recommended by Washburn "Extended Life Slicks"). I changed strings for the European-made flatwound Presto light (0.01; 0.012; 0.16; 0.026; 0.035; 0.045 ").
With the appropriate amplifier, the J3 guitar has a rich, mellow, warm tone. It is well suited to play Jazz, Blues, Ballades. With the switch positioned all the way down, it sounds also great in the rhythm section. A very comfortable neck profile. After 50 years of playing (different fretted instruments) I finally found my favorite guitar.
The only negative: it needed suitable strings (I suggest: flatwound).

.Sush... don't tell anyone about this... it's too good to be true. This is a great jazz guitar deal from Custom Guitars Friend. I bought this guitar to replace a similar one that was stolen frm me a long ago, and I never forgot it. I was surprised to see what a great deal it was. The action and fretwork are spot on, and the finish, unlike what the advertised image shows is not "brown sunburst" but a rich black/amber sunburst with a solid gloss finish, which is exactly what I was looking for. This guitar was playable righrt from the start, and it came with a professional case... what a great deal! This guitar lives up to what Washburn exemplifies; high quality at a reasonable price.
