Overall, I give it a 9 not only for the options it has, but also the great tone it has. The bass wood body seems to warm up the sound to where it is more well rounded to be not only great for metal, but versatile enough to play most types of rock and others.

The jackson v shaped case is made for the king v style guitars as well as the RR series, but it is a very tight fit with this guitar. You must be careful not to ding the long point of the guitar putting it in the case!
This guitar has a few options only found on medium to upper end guitars. The bound fret board, the bound headstock and the thru neck design. They are what I look for in a quality built guitar.
Guitar is pretty well made. I also own a MIJ phil demmel king v. The quality is about the same on this guitar, which is made in India.I was a little unsure about buying it coming from India, but in the end, I was glad I bought it.
I would say the guitar is a good value for the money. I paid a few hundred more for the Phil Demmel king v, but this guitar is a better value for the options it has.

. Overall, the RRXMG plays well and sounds great. The features you get for the price are excellent. Jackson paid attention to making an instrument that plays and sounds like a much more expensive one. They're not perfect aesthetically, but they totally look good on a stage. It's an instrument you could definitely record with. I would definitely recommend this to someone who is looking for a cost effective way to have good sounding, live performance instrument.
There are a lot of nice features on this instrument, which is what got my attention when I first checked into buying this. First off, the neck feels great... it's a good size, and once I got the adjustments out of the way, the action is nice and low and plays well and responsively. The tremolo stays in tune even through heavy use. The neck through design gives it good sustain as well and is a nice feature you don't usually find for this kind of money.

The best feature of the instrument though is the pickup set... if you've never played on a guitar with the EMG 81/85 combination before, you're missing out. I was very pleased to see these pickups on a brand new guitar for a good price.
The quality of the instrument is good overall, but I wouldn't call it amazing. My bandmate and I ordered two of these guitars for live use. One of the guitars had a bad setup out of the box... the action was set too low, and all the strings were buzzing. Sure, we were able to set it up to our standards, but you shouldn't have to right off the bat unless you're changing the string gauges.

The biggest disappointment is in the finish of the instrument. From a distance they look great, but the detail is where they get you. The paint on the end of the long part of the V on both guitars looked worn out... almost as if they just didn't put enough paint on it. There are other small spots on both of the guitars where the detail just isn't there. Not something you couldn't live with, but still...

Also, I can't say that I'm convinced the "Snow White" guitar is really white. It's an off white, almost slightly yellowed... I guess I can see the similarity to dirty snow or something, but it's not as white as I expected... Having taken a photo of it myself with a flash, the off white color becomes very white with heavy lighting. This probably resulted in the color you see on every web image of the guitar. It still looks nice, but don't expect a super white guitar or you'll be disappointed.
I'm giving this guitar a high rating for its value mostly because you get a lot of bang for your buck. For most of these features, you'll pay a lot more on other guitars. The instrument plays very well, and sounds awesome.

.I bought this about 5 months ago, It has been a seriously solid instrument. With the active pickups alot of people think it is just for metal, but in fact the 85 in the bridge produces a great tone for clean and blues with a bit of amp tweaking. The Floyd Rose Special actually has amazing performance and sustain. I never lose tuning unless I go nuts with dive bombs. I have the white finish Which is the only dissapointment because it is not Bright white because of the poly. As for the side of the frets you can file them down a bit but if you leave them and just play the thing alot they wear down on thier own. All and all a perfect guitar and better than the standard flying V shape. It sits so much better than an old gibson or some other model with equal tail peices.

.I bought this guitar about two months ago for 850$ Australian which is a steal. Jackson and Australia never end well because shipping is darn expensive and takes too long to arrive (6 months minimum). So anyway, the neck is thin as you'd expect and plays with no tone reduction. When I play an Ibanez it feels very weak and empty and this guitar shows no signs of that. The rosewood fingerboard is amazing. The quality wood is very nice to the touch and sounds great. It's around 1500 Australian after shipping and I managed to get this guitar by luck on a school camp for 850. It's in drop C with 10-52 elixirs and has a nice, fat sounding punch, while still holding high end clarity.

The only con of this guitar is the fact it doesn't sit on your lap. Don't get me wrong, the randy rhoads shape is my favourite of all time, and guitarists like Alexi Laiho make me like it even more. It's just hurting your hand from being outstretched when sitting. But if you stand up it's no problem at all. It is really a performance guitar.

.I was a little disappointed when I first started tinkering with this guitar. It was the first one I had bought in 20 years. It had terrible fret buzz at the first fret and the finish was not perfect by a longshot.I had to adjust the neck bolt and this cured the fret buzz.THe finish could not be corrected. It plays nice through the EMG`s and is pretty smooth but I must had set my expectations too high. The next guitar I buy will be where I can visually inspect the piece before buying.

.I bought this guitar about 5 years ago now when they still offered it in Cherry swirl with black hardware(beautiful guitar) and transblue with chrome hardware. I have to say for the money this guitar was worth every penny i worked all summer for! Jackson builds the best guitars, in my opinion, for the money. For the last five years i have gotten alot of amazing playing hours and tons of time on stage wth this guitar. Never once has it failed to sound amazing on every single amplifier i have plugged it into. At the time it came with Seymour duncan PU's so i cant speak for the pickups on this guitar but regardless they are easily replaced if you dont like em. Overall a great guitar for advanced and intermediate guitarists without having to pay over 2 grand. on a side note i have had issues with a horribly bad humming noise when not plying or when my hands arent touching a metal suface on the guitar. i tried shielding with tin foil but it only slighlty effected it. i have learned to live with it. Also i have had some easily fixed issues with fret buzzing particularly on my high e string 1st 2nd and 3rd frets that has never truly gone away completely despite having raised my action to 3mm. Great guitar though i def recommend
