Ok, I just need to correct another suscriber here. As a huge fan of Metallica, I know many things on this band. One of them is that Kirk's using two kind of guitars with the M-II shape : Bolt-on and neck-thru. No one's better than the other, the difference is what are you really looking for? For a clearer sound with more high range, choose the Bolt-on. For a deeper sound with more bass... choose the neck thru body. Kirk's using both of them. The KH-2 bolt-on just got an amazing sound, nice feeling, nice tone. Buy it if you want a guitar that will stand you for the future decades!

.The KH-2 is by far the best playing bolt on guitar I have ever played. I have been playing guitar for 22 years and I am completely blown away every time I pick it up. The EMG 81's sound amazing and for some reason this guitar is not plagued with the screechy mids that many super strat bodies are plagued with if they have active electronics or other types of high output pickups. It also has a pretty decent low end response and warm sound. The neck profile is very fast and the fretwork is flawless. This guitar shreds and the sound is huge. If you have 9-42 guage strings, the guitar sounds a bit thinner. The chunk factor dramatically increases if the strings are 10's. I've actually played this guitar with 11-48's before and its a wall of sound. The guitar stays in tune better than any guitar (nolt on, set neck, neck through. The people on here who who claim that this guitar stays in tune for a week at a time even with hard playing are not exaggerating. I have only owned and played high end USA madeguitars for the past 10 years and this is the best in my collection. It's expensive for a bolt on, and the price jump is significant from a regular M-II, but it is worth it if you want a light weight professional instrument that's built to last, sounds great, and is very versatile. This guitar is not a one trick pony.

.I have wanted this guitar since I was 13 years old (I am 31 now) and I finally own it as of September 2008. It has lived up to the hype that I have read about for several years. I primarily play hard rock/metal music and this guitar screams just that! I use a Rivera Knucklehead 100R through a Marshall 1960 4X12 cabinet. I own 4 ESP (not LTD) guitars and this one is by far the best. The neck is super smooth and the pickups sound great, even on clean channel! I would recommend this guitar to anyone who wants a guitar specifically for hard rock/metal.

.My friend let me play this guitar and it shreds so well i didnt want to give in up it was awesome. The guitar sounds great and it goes out of tune maybe once every three months and i mean three months of playing 12 hours a day like i do.im 11 and have been playing for 7 months and shred like i have been playing for 12 years literaly and i know what good gear is.its great buy it its worth every penny

.I owned an ESP KH-2 for nearly ten years. It is an exceptional instrument and extraordinarily well-constructed; the Floyd Rose bridge and locking nut work in concert to consistently keep the guitar tuned. The action is incredible and allows for fast leads; the neck is uncommonly wide and VERY thin. The EMG pickups are bassy yet lack treble definition when clean, though spectacularly warm and punchy when overdriven.Overall, this instrument was created for metal. It is nowhere near as versatile as a Les Paul, Stratocaster, or Gretsch. "One trick pony" is a term that could be accurately applied to the ESP KH- if you can only afford one high-end instrument, you're better off with a Gibson.

.This guitar screams metal! If you love Metallica, Slayer, Pantera or Black Sabbath, this is the guitar for you. With two loaded dual EMG 81 active set pickups in the neck and bridge you get monster lows, and thick rich highs. As well as the EMG's you also get an origanal floyd rose locking tremolo, great for wammy bar dives and many other guitar techniques. Strings never go out of tune once locked in! (I reccomend ernieball skinny top/heavy bottom 10.-52. strings for the best output on this guitar.) The guitar is made of only the best wood (alder body, and mahogony/rosewood for the neck and fretboard. The electronics are top of the line and are set to Kirks specifications. Another great feature si the custom skull and crossbone inlays, a great way to give this guitar even more character than it already shows, a perfect end to a perfect guitar. GO OUT AND GET ONE!

.I gotta start by saying that this is the best guitar i have played through. I have owned this model since 1994 or "95" I can't quite remember but this ax has held up through thick and thin.I am not kidding this guitar has been through it all and it still plays and sounds like it did when I bought it. I own quite a few guitars including the kh3 model and this is my favorite. If you have the money to spend on a high quality instrument then I highly recomend this model.

.I got this guitar yesterday and it's the best guitar i've ever tried. The Emg's rule... awesome clean and rockin' distortion.

.There are few guitars out there that deliver in all fields. This thing sounds good, looks good and plays good. It's one of those guitars that make you feel cooler than you actually are when you put it on. The EMG's scream, but can be dialed down to give a good clean tone, very warm and bassy. The original Floyd Rose stays in good tune and allows you to do those awesome Dimebag harmoic screams. The factory setup is pretty much perfect.I am not a big Metallica fan, but this instrument stands on it's own.
