it is nearly impossible to turn off the echo and effects, the knob usually doesnt recognize the off position. but pther than that it is a good, portable amp and its nice how it has a mic input and its surprisingly loud. The distortion isn't very good either.

. Much more positive than negative.
Interesting that Line 6 has changed their products (at least this one) to match Peavey's way of thinking. Turn this amp on, effects are on - just like Peavey's. My Spider Jam - turn it on - comes on clean, the way it should be. Anyway, the amp sounds good. My MP3 player, mics, and guitars all sound good on this amp. The battery power aspect is nice (no power cord needed - but adapter is supplied). All the effects work well. The low end is gutless, but you can feed it into a sound board if you need to. For an easy, take-along, practice amp, it is great and I would recommend it. The on-board tuner is nice also, but I have to crank my guitars all the way up to get it to work well - then do not forget to turn your guitar back down, and hit the INSANE button - because you will know why they labeled it INSANE - poor little amp sounds like it is about to blow it's knobs all over the room! It will get loud! For a student, or busker (as they say across the pond), this amp would be a very good choice. If Line 6 would change their turn-on sequence, and put in a long-throw, polycone speaker - this amp would easily dominate the mini-amp market.
It needs a better speaker. Remember Line 6, and anyone else who might be reading this - always, always, always, always put your money into the speaker(s) - that is what you hear!
For the money - great buy!

.MY friend owns this and when he comes over i play it sometimes. I like it! but the EQ comtrols are'nt very effective, and the metal and insane tones are very similar and a tiny bit cheezy. But the crunch and clean toens are excellent. otherwise if you are'nt picky like me, and want to save money, this is good for you.

.Well worth the money.
I love this amp. It is a great practice amp. Plenty of power for practicing and working stuff out )way more than you would think). I have even patched this through a bigger amp to play with the band, just to get the sounds and settings from this thing. It has a great sound and can really rock when patched into something with a lot of power. On the other hand, I even loan this out to a ladies group to use for a PA for their meetings. It's lightweight, easy to carry and doesn't take a rocket scientist to use. Just plug and play and have fun. The tuner is pretty good and easy to use. The presets are really good, too. A good variety of sounds that are easy to use. The one thing I don't care much for is that the settings all are set to automatically turn on the phaser, chorus. You just have to turn them off each time. Minor problem for a great little amp that sounds a lot "BIGGER" than it's size.

. I really wanted to like this amp but t'was not to be. Some of the effects are okay but sweep echo is awful and reverb is less than stellar, tape echo is passable. The speaker breaks up and distorts with the volume at about 4. The distortions are harsh, tinny and very amature(much like my spelling). The clean is equally bad do to what I believe is a VERY cheap and poor quality speaker. Go for the roland micro cube. Sound quality is excellent. If you want a small modeling amp with a mic input go for the vox da5. I do not recommend this amp at all.
Same basic features as all the other amps in its class (vox, roland, etc)
Build quality is good. Sound quality is terrible.
In my opinion not worth the money

.I had a Vox mini that I liked everything about it, except for it has an obnoxious nasally tone that I can't stand and am very sensitive too. Very, very british sounding. I went to The Guitar Sinner and tried out the Line 6 MicroSpider, the tone alone blew me away. the effects are ok, they need more variety and the 'space delay' is very cheesy. If this amp had a better effect level control and a compressor it would be the bomb. The tone alone is what sold me. Very big sounding almost sounds like a 10" speaker. Great fat crunch and the tone controls work very well. If this amp had Vox's mini effects, it would be 100% awesome. I also tried the Vox D5 which is the larger battery amp than the Vox mini. It had the same midrangey, nasally sound with less bottom end than the MicroSpider. No contest for me, but there are plenty of people that like that British style midrange. I don't. I like a fat, ballsy, rich, smooth tone and this little Spider does it well. The lead tones are thick and punchy compared to the Vox's.

.This amp for such a small package delivers some punch. For general practice, volume level 2 is plenty and half way up is real loud with good clarity with no speaker vibration or unwanted distortion. The various amp models and effects allow you to dial in about any tone you want and they all sound great for their intended purpose. You will find something for any style or genre of music. The additional acoustic setting makes it very versatile and it sounds awesome with my Martin DCX-1E. The way the effects are set up is easy to use and allows you to control the intensity and speed of the effects through the knob position and a tap for speed button. The microphone input and separate mic level control along with the audio device input lets you to play as a one man band or practice along with the audio input. The tuner works well and is positioned and lighted for easy view even in a dark environment. Last but not least is the portability. It is very light and on battery power there is no loss in performance and you can play several hours on one set of batteries. Anyone looking for a full featured, portable amp should seriously consider this one.

.I bought this amp a few years ago - wanted something very compact. It's small, portable and convenient, but is a bit noisier than the comparable Rolands (2) I also own.
I finally rigged up a switching jack to run these 5 Line-6 watts thru a 50w. 10" speaker. What a difference that makes! So much gutsier and musical.
That's a lesson I've learned with a number of small, inexpensive amps - it's always the speaker that's the cheapest, weakest link.

.So small, so many features, so portable, so much fun.
Line 6 Micro Spider 6W 1x6.5 Guitar Combo Amp Black
.I've had this amp for about six months now, I specifically picked this one for the small size for my dorm room. It worked great for about 3 of those six months and now it won't even turn on. (trying to use line 6 customer support is annoying too) The tuner also is worthless, I have to use a different tuner to get my guitar actually in tune. the tone sounds too sharp and pushy, like the little amp is trying to be something it's not. The knobs are flimsy- just feels overall cheaply made. I'd say i'm not impressed. I have the spider 3 75 watt and the lowdown 300 pro and both those work perfectly. something about this guitar amp just doesn't fit.
