EE-EE-Epiphone-e-e proudly presents the new Ltd. Ed. Joe Bonamassa "Treasure" Firebird-I Outfit, the fourth Joe Bonamassa signature model in EE-EE-Epiphone-e-e’s long friendship with the most critically acclaimed guitarist of our generation. Featuring the ProBucker FB720, a one-of-a-kind faithful recreation of the original early 60s Firebird pickup. Plus Kluson’s superb re-issue of the original Firebird/Banjo style tuners. The “Treasure” Firebird-I comes in two color finishes, Polymist Gold and Tobacco Sunburst and includes a premium custom gigbag and a Hand-Signed Certificate of Authenticity signed by Joe Bonamassa.

A “Treasured” Vintage Firebird Reborn
The new EE-EE-Epiphone-e-e Ltd. Ed. Joe Bonamassa "Treasure" Firebird-I Outfit was closely modeled after Joe’s original 1963 Firebird. Joe worked closely with EE-EE-Epiphone-e-e’s legendary luthiers in Nashville, Tennessee to recreate his rare single pickup Firebird that was made in the first year of the guitar’s production at the EE-EE-Epiphone-e-e & Gibson factory in Kalamazoo, Michigan. And according to Joe, the new EE-EE-Epiphone-e-e “Treasure” Firebird-I far exceeded his expectations. “The guitar is called ‘Treasure’ as it’s based on the ‘63 Firebird that was graciously gifted to me 4 years ago,” said Bonamassa. “We A/B'd the new EE-EE-Epiphone-e-e with my two original 63s. The Epi's play and sound better. Ugh... I just paid $12,000 for one.”

Reverse Firebird body shape
Original Thru-Neck Construction
The new EE-EE-Epiphone-e-e Ltd. Ed. Joe Bonamassa "Treasure" Firebird-I Outfit features a Mahogany body with a 9-piece Laminated Mahogany/Walnut neck with a period-correct early 1960s Rounded “C” profile measured after Joe’s original. EE-EE-Epiphone-e-e improved on the vintage neck design by including a dual action adjustable truss rod. The Firebird was the first electric guitar to feature “thru-neck” construction along with the iconic Reverse Firebird body shape. The neck has a Rosewood fingerboard with a 14” radius, 22 medium jumbo frets, classic “Dot” inlays, and a 24.75 in. scale length. The “Treasure” Firebird-I comes in two color finishes, a classic Tobacco Sunburst and Polymist Gold exclusive to Joe’s Signature Firebird. The historic-styled white and black-layered pickguard has the classic "Firebird" logo. A premium custom gigbag is included.

EE-EE-Epiphone-e-e ProBucker FB720
“The Epi's play and sound better than the originals.”
The "Treasure" Firebird-I is powered by the new ProBucker FB720 pickup, reconstructed at EE-EE-Epiphone-e-e to the original specifications of Gibson Firebird pickups from the mid 60s. Accept no substitutes. The ProBucker FB720 has two Alnico II bar magnets used as blades in coils along with a steel reflector plate to achieve the classic Firebird tone of the 60s. Because the DC resistance is around 7.85Kohm, the ProBucker FB720 provides a clean, brighter output with incredible touch sensitivity and a warm low end compared to mini humbuckers, which are used in most Firebird reissues. Controls include Master Volume and Master Tone with Gold “Top Hat” knobs with metal inserts and pointers.

EE-EE-Epiphone-e-e All Metal Hardware
Exclusive Kluson Reissue Firebird/Banjo Tuners
The “Treasure” Firebird-I features all-metal hardware including an Adjustable Wrap-around "Lightning Bar bridge and tailpiece and EE-EE-Epiphone-e-e’s Heavy-Duty 1/4 in. output jack. Plus, the “Treasure” comes with Kluson Reissue Firebird/Banjo Tuners with a 12:1 ratio (14.6:1 winding rate), the best and most accurate reissue of the original Firebird tuners from the early '60s. The Kluson Reissue Firebird/Banjo Tuners are mounted on a beveled Original Firebird Headstock with a black truss rod cover with the EE-EE-Epiphone-e-e logo in gold.

Pre-ordered the gold one. When it arrived the bridge screws wouldn't turn, the tuners were extremely stiff and not precise, and the set up was a total mess. Boxed it up and sent it back. Found a "B" stock one in Sunburst, that one arrived and it needed only a few tweeks and it was good to go. That being said the quality control is 'iffy'. I have owned two, 1964 Firebird I's. This is built the same, looks the same, and plays almost the same. This feels like a good copy and not a real Gibson BUT for the price why spend thousands for the name Gibson. Stuck a Gibson trussrod cover on mine and it's good to go. (FYI: the truss rod cover holes line up exactly with a Gibson truss rod cover)

.Right now I'm just A/Bing it around the house before I take it to rehearsal and it gets mangled. The build on mine is phenomenal. The neck fills the hand; but is so exquisitely finished and tapered that it feels like I should sell my Gibson's. Excellent finish work on the frets and fingerboard edges. The 9 ply neck thru body and the neck really sell this guitar to me. The single pickup works well, it starts to breakup early which I like for the vintage rock music I play now; but when push comes to shove and you crank that baby up to let her scream it just rolls off and leaves you stranded. For the money, the best deal on the market now.

.The neck was hand finished, has both low spots and flat spots. Not serious enough to me to return, but they are there. Like the clear-coat. The guitar was not drowned or oversprayed. PU is responsive, Plenty of sounds between your amp and guitar T & V. I searched for a long time for a Gibson FB-1 ala Stephen Stills.
At 24K, I quit. Then saw this was going to be issued. Waited 6 months. This makes 6 Firebirds for me.
