I needed a case for my Gretsch 2202 bass and I had read a hardshell case was next to impossible to find. Well I tried this case and it is perfect for my Gretsch. .After trying (& failing) to find a case to fit my Allen Woody Bass, I decided to order the real deal. This case is nicer than I expected. It has a leather look vinyl exterior with mock piping to hide the seams. Hardware in of decent quality and the interior is a nice black plush, but not cheap and "furry" looking.It's a bit of a tight squeeze (I am sure it will adjust after a few days) and it would be nicer as an archtop case, but overall it is the right fit for a unique bass, and good value for the money.

.This is the second case of this type I have bought. The first was bought back in '07?, and it has protected my Allen Woody perfectly....then I traded a Jazz bass for an old 30" Gibson Les Paul recording bass that needed a case...I found that the Woody's case fitted perfectly, so I bought this second one...Excellent case!

.A good, I said good not very good, case. I discovered it will accomadate a other instruments, but I would spend a little more for the Gretsch case if I was going to use it a lot for the guitars I mentioned above. But it is nice to know. The terrific Woody Bass deserves a slightly better case but what can ya do?

.Should be great protection for my Allen Woody bass. I tend to worry more about damage to a set-neck bass than a bolt-on neck bass, so hard case is preferable to gig bag.

.This case was for my second Allen Woody bass. Couldn't resist the blue pearl. The quality is what you would expect for the price. Very adequate for everyday use.

.This case is made in China. Compared to the Canadian-made case that came with my Epi Casady, the Allen Woody case weighs much less and the hardware is made of thinner metal. I wonder what material the case is made of. The inside gray fur lining is nice and thick and holds the bass snugly. I wish there was just a little more room inside to stash my Levy's leather strap, but it does fit.
This case hasn't left the house yet, but I expect it will be fine for the gigging I do...and there's not really another choice, other than getting lucky with the right gigbag.
